I'm confused why a 2010 vs a 2017? Between those two I guess a 2017 nismo but I can't imagine the price even being nearly the same so why is a 2013+ sport out of question? You'll get same oil cooler and with just an exhaust and tune same go as nismo with money to spare.
I guess I could go any way as I have loved every version of the 370z 2009, 2013, nismo and reg and the 2015+ nismo. I just find them all good looking in their own way. In terms of timeless design though I think 2013+ will have a look that will last (maybe biased as that's what I have). When shopping I liked the dang design more as it is more aggressive but then the 13 grew on me and looks like a more classic timeless look (300z big mantaray opening). |

If I could do it all over again, I would go and grab a lower mileage 2013-14 model. I agree with another poster here, the 2018 is suppose to be a new model with different look and feel - that being said, like any older model - the depreciation hit will suck. Just like I was able to score a good deal on my G35 coupe when the G37 coupes hit the market. Just my .02 Decided to look for a few cars (didn't care how far away from me) and came across 2 that I would consider if i was in the market now (the first one being what I would probably ultimately get) 2011 sport with touring - 16500 miles https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6657/overview/ 2012 Nismo with 14000 miles https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...3241/overview/ To me, a new Nismo would be around $38-42....if you got the 2011, you would save yourself around $16k....put $5k aside and add front and rear sways/springs and an FI exhaust with a tune - I think you would come out ahead and not take the depreciation hit - add the low miles on that ride and I think you would be happier (at least I know I would be happier if I went that route LOL) Good luck to whatever you choose - the Z is a great car - it has it's faults but EVERY car has it's faults; all I know is that it puts a smile on my face whenever I take off and look to go for a drive. The Nismo has the same oil cooler as the other Z's. No different. The 2018 Z has not changed in looks or or anything else. Same car. It has chrome door handles, and some tape strips on the body. Seen it at ZDayZ.

I thought that the 2018 was FINALLY getting a new body style and was the latest z35 model. Guess I was wrong. Regardless I wouldn't buy a new car that should be having a complete redesign in a year or so.

I'm somewhat of an echo to most of these statements, but one thing I'll admit is that a lot of I want to do to my Z is getting a good share of the OEM Nismo parts. Of course, I'm not actually going to do that, but in hindsight I kinda wish I held out for a deal on a Nismo.
On another note, the 2018 Heritage Z supposedly runs a newer Exedy clutch. No idea if that implies anything regarding the CSC or is a noticeable upgrade of any sort. I'd doubt it if they still keep the goofy flywheel. |

What you save on the car. You will pay for the seats.

2010 doesn't have an oil cooler, but I do agree that overheating issues in normal driving are a highly exaggerated problem, if it's a problem at all. If you're going to run the car on a track, the factory oil coolers aren't likely to be adequate anyway.

I was replying to the beginning of NecioVato post. That the new Nismo had a better oil cooler. Which it doesn't. It's the same one. And people still find the the Z still runs warm with the factory cooler on the street.

Mine has factory cooler & added 50rwhp from stock & runs 200'ish cruising around...a little spirited driving & 220,230 will come up before you know it....it's definitely one of the 1st foundation mods I should have started with....unsure how warm it got before installation of mods.

In all of this Florida heat, I have never seen my oil temps go past 210, even idling in traffic.
