Definitely Nismo. I would've never bought a Z if it wasn't for the Nismo edition.

I am sympathetic to the aversion to modding, speaking from experience. It's fine if modding your car is a hobby that you enjoy, but if you don't truly enjoy auto mechanics, it's a pretty certain pathway to at least some level of frustration. Additionally, in this case, we're talking about a used 2010 vs a new 2017. I agree that in those 7 years there have been no major changes but there have been a lot of little tweaks that have added some level of convenience and some level of increased reliability. I've seen that in the difference between my 2011 and my 2014. Additionally, you'll be driving a 7 year old car. Things are going to break with increasing frequency on any car that old. You'll not only have the cost of modding, you'll have the cost of repairs.
We are getting to the end-of-life of the Z34 platform. If there is going to be a Z35, you will shortly find your new Nismo with a major depreciation hit, one that you won't have with a 2010. If there's no Z35, that depreciation won't be that big a deal. Even so, if you plan to keep the car for awhile, say 3-5 years....buy the 2017. |

Get an 18' model,,,come's w/Chrome door handle's (that may be just the Heritage pkg.)
The Nismo will give you larger wheels, brakes & a performance suspension....+ has 350BHP vs. 332 on the other's...Un-sure about oil cooling on the 18' model. You may get the last ~Z~ car built for a while.

I personally can't stand the new Nismo's. They look like crap compared to the older ones. The only thing great you get are the Recaro seats. I would look for a 2012 to 2014 model year Nismo unmolested with no mods and low mileage. They can be found. For some reason folks like to get these cars, stick them in a garage and just look a them.

That's what I said when I bought my '09 Sport in '09.
I was wrong...

Personally I prefer the earlier kit/wing/wheels, and the later black interior bits, seats, headlights, gearing, and nav option. |

2017 Nismo - $42k Better seats Better brakes 2016 Base Z - $28k Intake - $440 Exhaust - $1500 Tune - $900 Suspension - $800 Nismo wheels/new tires - $1300 Also lighter curb weight, no useless add-ons to pay for that I don't want (Bose stereo, active noise cancellation, NAV, rev-match, tiny display to tell you what gear you're in... Why?). 2016 Base Z with mods - $32,940 = Much more bang for buck, considerably more power, better sounding, better handling. Looks is a personal opinion, and I like both, so... My base Z simply walks away from my brother's 2016 Magma Sport and our neighbor's pearl white 2016 Nismo, both manuals. Not arguing, just saying.

You forgot the better wheels, much better looking, the rarity, exhaust, all while being OEM and under warranty. Plus you have a Nismo, who doesn't like having something better. I also told him to grab a used one. No need to spend 42 grand on a new, worse looking Z
