if both you and your wife will be driving, keep the 370Z. sure you'll miss the features, but at least your wife won't be whining about how much she hates the manual transmission.
Without going into the long detailed story. Right now NEITHER car is mine. We have to go back today to resign contracts on the Z which means I could possibly return it.

The G is on loan until my wife can sign her part of the paper work today.

For this being a 370z forum. I thought yall would be chanting ZEE ZEE ZEE
or thrown down an Irish car bomb yelling " ZIGGY ZIGGY ZIGGY ZIGGY OYI OYI OYI, ZIGGY ZIGGY ZIGGY ZIGGY OYI OYI OYI "

I could understand not wanting more Zs to make our car more rare. But its not the BASE BASE model. just the interior is base. So its not a little rich college girl's car.

Wife is split like I am. She wants to look sexy while driving the Z. But we both love our options in the G.
"why didnt we buy the fully loaded Z?"

We couldn't afford the fully loaded Z. Hence why the G is used.

It's such an easy choice, for anyone buying either of Nissan's hot cars:

If you need it for a DD, if you need to carry stuff or passengers, get the G. If you have another car to carry stuff or passengers, get the Z. Simple. Next!

I went thru the SAME Exact dilemma. New Z vs. old G for the same price.

I decided to not go for the G, these were my conclusions, of course very personal to me:

- External looks, Z wins. Wife will surely look sexy in it.
- Keeping my old 4 seater so '2 seater being inconvenient for trips to the city' eliminated, Z wins
- When I get older, I would go for an even more luxurious car than the G. Plenty out there. I'm a fan of great interiors (incidently I was the one who started the wood trim in the Z thread..LOL! because I was going thru the exact same problem of the Z not being luxurious from the inside).. Z wins
- When I get older, no offense to anyone, it'd be nice to not be associated with a mid life crisis. Z wins at age 24

Z now, luxury car later. Hope that helps.

Agree with everything except the mid-life crisis. What, I can't drive this beautiful car because I'm 55? WTF? I'm gonna leave all this FUN to a bunch of Generation-XXXX n00bs?

geez jk don't flame don't hate I love you all.

I'll have to agree with 370zsteve on that one. I dont understand what really constitutes as a 'mid life crisis' and whether it really exists! it's an urban myth in my book! What's wrong in someone wanting to drive a sports car when they're not in Teens, 20s,or even 30s? Maybe circumstances prohibited them to owning one. Maybe they simply love sports cars in general.. I'm 25. So no, my defence is not from experienced knowledge but I can say it isn't biased.

ANYWAYS to OP.
like everyone else said. If you have things to carry, get G, if not Z.
Both are amazing cars and I contemplated the exact same. (But up here in Canada, we do not have "Base" Z.)
Styling on Z is definitely much nicer than G IMO stock v stock but i think modified G looks as nice

Hmm!! Nice ideas there. I am 25. We already have a 4 door sedan. We plan on having kids in 5 years when its time for a new car/suv later.
Luxury later... i like that!

Well .. I'm in my midlife crisis time-frame (actually farther if you count all of my relatives not living past 70).. and the Z is my savior!!

pretty simple...

Nissan wants Z owners to eventually become G owners

sounds like you want to be a G owner

Hey, as long as she's still willing to put up with the manual transmission and not complain, go for the G. Otherwise...it's gonna be a looooooooooong drive together when she's driving.

Just imagine the over the manual transmission.

Honestly, though, it sounds like you're already leaning towards the G anyway, so enjoy your Infiniti
