CSC and steering lock are Nissan problems. The rest of your list sounds more like they've got the oil change monkeys trying to fix mechanical issues.

Just buy a new one...CSC will be for everyone but the steering lock problem was solved in what 2011 ...I think ...correct chuck33079? That means one problem when it occurs the CSC...fairly low cost when you compare with other performance cars and engine failure problems. Sounds like yours is a PITA get the CIVIC Type R instead...lol

Buy a one year old Z from Wayzata Nissan in Minnesota. I got my 16 Nismo for $31,900 with 6000 miles on it. They discount them heavy in August because in September they start getting snow and have to store them until spring of the next year.

The last 2 issues should be related to a couple of switches for the brake pedal. IIRC, one cancels cruise control and the other is the brake indication. It also serves as a feature to prevent unintended acceleration (cuts power). The switches can be adjusted, but with that mileage you might as well get the switches replaced.
Once all is said and done you'll notice the engine will scream like you've never heard before in a long time because the throttle actually opens up now. Reference my post in this thread: I have a serious engine problem

The Z in most cases is a GREAT car.
That being said, the Mustang, and Camaro haters don't have a clue. The Mustang has been a legit Sports Car since 2015. They are very nice, and they do turn. The Camaro is even more a legit Sports car. Straight lines, and turns, the 16 Camaro is getting it done very well. It's an all new car that rides on the Cadillac ATS platform. Both are definitely good alternatives to the Z. |

Well fellow friends, after much thought I think ill be keeping the Z. I know, I know, but as much as I hate it I have some strange love affair with this car. I cant say id sell it for another Z, especially when I still have 2 years and 30k miles left on the extended warranty and its not like i'm having major catastrophic engine failure. Nuisances I suppose. But theres something about all the headaches, and hardships Ive faces with this stupid thing that have cursed me to love it. Twisted, I know. Yet my 70lb pooch still doesn't fit, and as much as I love her, i'm not selling my Z to accommodate her fatass Instead I plan on buying a beater car that the dog can throw up in when she gets car sick, and I wont give two sh*** about it because its old and save me gas in the process.
Granted, I do take an interest in the new Mustang GT but theres something undeniably awesome about a 2 seater sports coupe even if it is/isn't as good. Since I wont be driving the Z as much I might focus on a more track oriented set-up for it in the near future. |
