Is dyna mat worth it?

Simply put, is it worth the hassle & expense?
Does anyone have decibel numbers before and after?
Thinking of only doing the trunk.

Thanks

I did the rear of my 2009 Touring and it made a big difference. Didn't use Dynamat, can't remember brand, GTmat maybe. Covering the wheel wells and towers seemed to make the most difference.

From what I have read, the doors are a big noise source. You might want to consider doing them, too.

Sound deadening can make a huge difference when applied properly.

I did what you are thinking of on mine. It helped somewhat, but it wasn't worth the time or money imo. If I had kept the car I would've gone a different route this summer. I do believe that it would've made a bigger difference on the doors. After looking into options I think that a filler like a thick carpet pad type material would work better for the rear. It would fill the spaces where the dynamat was just an added layer.

I'm not saying that there isn't an improvement with just the dynamat, but it wasn't enough for me.

In a word. Yes.
I did my back hatch, doorsand rear wheel wells. The road noise is decidedly lessened. I've driven the car for 114,000 miles, so I've definitely had enough time to tell.

So I probably stopped too soon? I figured the doors would be a big difference, I guess I never thought of doing the hatch. Just the floor wasn't a big difference to me so I stopped there and put on an ARK exhaust making the rest a moot point imo.

I meant the hatch area. I didn't do the actual hatch lid.

its a lot of rolling the roller but it does tame down da light metallic sound coming out of the trunk. if i was to do it again, i wouldnt do it.

Did the doors, hatch & double upped by the rear wheels.

Sorry, don't have a decibel meter but my rough guess is a 10-20% reduction in road noise. Not really huge but I'd do it again. I get to hear what I really like to hear, exhaust & music.

yah, if ure doing the doors and all the areas for stereo related noise reduction, then it's worth it. but then ure also weighing down the car.

trunk-only is not worth it imho... i wouldnt do it again.
