Parts wash?

What do you all use to clean parts? Specifically, I've got a set of brake calipers and related parts that I want to clean up before I sell.

I've always used non chlorinated brake cleaner and a couple of different brushes for calipers. I've also heard that people to mineral spirits with good results. The one thing I'd say not to use is solvents like you'd have in a parts washer, the seals don't like it much.

I saw a microbial cleaner on "Car Fix", but I can't remember the name if it.

Don't know if this will help or not, but when I raced Motocross, I always used contact clean to clean all the engine and carb internals.

Oh. And the seals aren't a huge deal because I bought a rebuild kit to sell with them.

Soap, water, and stiff brush for everyday dirt and grime. Contact cleaner (or other no-residue cleaner) for the stuck on stuff.

Old tooth brush works good for the brush. Spray down with brake cleaner or just liquid dishwasher detergent.

Brake cleaner or electronic contact cleaner or MAF cleaner or RC car motor spray.

Brake cleaner stinks after cleaning so I only use it for brakes or cleaning after oil change , etc

For brake calipers you can just use adams wheel cleaner or iron x from carpro. It breaks down the iron in the break dust and requires little scrubbing. A bottle is about 17 bucks.

When I was cleaning up my Akebonos before I upgraded this is what I used. I tried brake cleaner first but it was using too much. Dawn, warn water and a brush, then finished it off with brake cleaner.
