Engine Note:Do I Have A Problem?
I've only driven my new 370 base A7 twice---once when I brought her home and then, a few days after. I noticed that when the car is cold (even though garaged) and I started her, the exhaust "growl" seems very loud. It quiets down after a minute or so and is just right thereafter. I'm just concerned about the loudness, though, during that first minute or two of warm-up. If this is normal, I have no objection to it. I just want to be sure that it's not a symtom of some kind of a muffler or exhaust problem.

its normal.

the ECM ups your idle to help it get things moving when you first start. like a choke on a carb. 2k rpm is a resonating sob in these cars. typically i'll see 1.5-1.6k upon first starting.
normal, enjoy it :D EDIT: lol first 2 replies are PW Nismos  |
