Now let's get back on topic. Chances of the yellow being chosen because of excess paint from 09?

Agree with Ricer about the Jalopnik article. For those who are wishing for a BRZ STi, it already exists. Porsche has a light weight (3,000 lbs) 300 hp base 718 Cayman for you but expect to pay more than double comparing to a BRZ. Or, if you are cheap, the Z offers the hp you want at the price you can afford but the car is a little heavy. Seriously, if someone in Subaru can put together a profitable performance car selling at low $30k with Cayman like performance and weight, that person should already be working as some kind of chief product director at Porsche.
The truth is that the weak engine is the main reason why the BRZ can be 2,800 lbs. It puts less stress on everything in the car. By the time you add 50% more hp to a BRZ, you will need to strengthen the chassis, powertrain, suspensions, brakes and the list goes on and on... and eventually, the car will be heavier and/or cost more. |

Don't get me wrong I love the tech in new sports cars but I think the "roughness" is what I truly enjoy about driving the Z. The most annoying nanny on this car is the single setting VDC but you can turn that off.
We live in a day of high hp cars with fast 0-60 times that are full of electronic nannies. Heck a lot of sedans can pace or beat the Z in the straight line nowadays. But for the very few such as ourselves that care about the overall driving experience and not just stats on paper, the Z STILL fits the bill even 8 years after it was introduced. Who would've thought that a car with 332hp would be considered "slow" or "underpowered" but that's the market right now. Should be interesting to see how high the hp wars go. Seems like the older I get, the less I care about the newer cars and the more I want a classic. |

That's exactly how I feel. There is no new car on the market I am interested including the Q60 coupe. Cars are going faster these days but I can't say that they are more fun to drive.

I just got back from the annual Automobile Show in Birmingham, and there wasn't even a Z of ANY version to be seen. Just about every other manufacturer was there with just about every model . New Ford GT, new NSX, new F-type.......... Even FIAT had the new 124 on display.......no Z ......... Pretty sad .
