Burn out question

rookie right here
Im wondering on what rpm do you guys start when doing a burn out?
Coz i know every car is different. Depends on hp.
Any tips and tricks?
And if u guys have videos please feel free to share it in here! Thanks!

Make sure youre bouncing the limiter for 20 to 30 seconds, drop the clutch like its hot (or better yet neutral drop it if an auto) and enjoy the fireworks.

It's pop the clutch. Basically you just slide your foot off to the side of a fully depressed clutch. It makes a popping sound when it hits the top.

The 20-30 seconds bouncing off the limiter is really important to look cool.

I think I can see where this thread is headed. IBTL

In all seriousness if you are set on doing a burn out (this isn't a muscle car) you just gotta go get a feel for it. Also, if you really want to take life off of your tires do donuts instead. Much more fun.

Don't listen to them OP - they are all granny shifting... not double clutching like they should.

ssmoked 03-28-2017 01:56 PM

This thread is too funny...

On a serious note, there is nothing wrong with a burnout before installing new tires or on a drag strip for more traction on a cold day.
Make sure to unplug the Brake Fuse first, or else the Z will cut power way before you can spin them

It's a good question. I don't have a clue...I don't know anyone in high school that owns a Z.

I thought you need to hold the clutch at the friction point (clutch-point) during that 20-30s bouncing the limiter, in order to "warm-up" the clutch thus it can grip the tranny much better.

Actually the proper warm up is launch get to about 45mph (ideally 60+) then slam it into R

You get a good clunk. It'll keep you in position

B&W_Evader 03-30-2017 02:45 PM

Lots of good advice here!

How to Do a Burnout With a Manual Transmission

SgtGoldy 03-30-2017 03:39 PM

everyone is talking sh*t on burnouts but I always have fun with em. If you got the money to waste on tires and not endangering anybody I don't see it being that big of a deal.

Just dont light them up for long though, have a little fun and get moving.
