Default Need help.. I've read all about steering lock isues.please help

I took my car threw car wash at work to day and right after. My windshield wipers would not shut off. So I shut car off and tried restarting.when I did this the dash started flashing out going dead. Coming back on and off I drove it .And the hazard lights came on would not shut off .Well they would but I could do nothing to shut them off. The key light came on after I got home.
And the dash was dead at this point drove it home dead. Shut car off . And replaced battery in key fob. Car would start as soon as I pushed clutch in without hitting button. But would not shut off I took key inside away from car and it still would not shut off . After replacing the battery in fob the key light still comes on and will not start like it should if I play around it will start sometimes but still will not shut off. It threw a code for loss of communication to HVAC. Only code that is in it anyone have any ideas
Thank you

I forgot to say the steering lock has already been replaced once.
And battery volts are 13.5

And why didn't you pull the fuse right after?

Wow, that was a hard read. Doesn't sound like a steering lock failure. There's more going on that the lock failure.

Sounds a lot like you got the wiring wet. Pop the hood and look for water. If everything is dry, I'd try removing a terminal from battery, press on brake pedal for a few seconds, and reconnect battery. This resets the ECM, auto-up window operation, and radio presets. It will take a few minutes of driving around for the ECM to re-learn the engine, the window reset procedure takes about 30 seconds. The difficult part will be re-entering the radio presets.

Edit: the ECM is somewhere in the passenger footwell - check it for moisture. Not sure where the BCM is located but would check it too.

It now has a u0164 HVAC communication code
But car still not shutting off with button if it starts it starts without pushing button. Key light still on . Could the HVAC module cause the bcm not to communicate with the key or bcm

Sounds like you may have a dangerous car there, if it starts just by pressing the clutch down. I agree that you must get it to a good repair shop as soon as you can. It may well be water-related, but you don't know, especially if the car is new to you.

Be safe.

It does seem to tick all of the boxes on that one. Fingers crossed it's not.

If all these issues happened right after the car wash I would agree with others and think wet wiring somewhere. How long ago was the Steering Lock Box replaced? Unless it was just recently done, I don't think its that.
