ZDayZ 2017
Got an e-mail from Fontana Village for my room today.
|
Rusty were you there last year? If you were I can't believe we didn't meet. Unless you saw an Asian guy. 99% sure it was me.

Well first from pa but I was very slow on the draw this year. Last year I registered #7 I believe this year it was 107. Sadly most of my usual group I go down with all bailed. |

I want to go to this pretty badly. Cant do 4 days though. I want to go just to get ideas from better modders than me and to learn about the best mods out there. I freely admit to planning on emulating the excellent mods I see.
Want to drive the tail of the dragon as well. My buddies who are motorcycle fiends fell me great stories about it. |
Work wouldn't give me 2.5 weeks to do ZdayZ and Spring Nationals back-to-back......
So I'm just doing ZdayZ! |

found this little gem on a biker forum, would probably be something good to print for the trip.
http://tailofthedragonmaps.com/wp/wp...Radar_2015.jpg http://tailofthedragonmaps.com/wp/wp...ath_2016-1.jpg seems like a lot of bike crashes happen going north bound, so if you are southbound... time to be more vigilant of them leaning over into your lane. |

http://gmauthority.com/blog/wp-conte...-parkway-4.jpg stay safe everyone, keep it tame, you never know when a 800lb missile will come into your lane. |
Seems that the bike and the driver are both from jolly old England. Too bad we drive on the right side of the road in North America.
|
Less than a week away fellas! 4th year for me, and first year on site. My liver is ready.

4am, locked, loaded, and rolling out the door in 5 ,4, 3, 2, 1
Fontana here we come! :driving: |
We're leaving Wednesday morning after I get off of work. So that should be around 1030 am. It's a 8 to 9 hr drive. Figure we should be checking in around 7pm.

We were leaving Tuesday evening but things have changed. So we are heading out either at like 4am wed or like 10am wed. We have about the same 9-9.5 hour drive maybe we will see you on the road since we basically take the same route. |

I will be leaving at 11:00am Tuesday morning. Gotta make it through Atlanta traffic before rush hour.
|
Here....
|
Took on the tail this am, roads were virtually empty :driving:
When I rolled thru Fontana village ( am staying in near by Alcoa ) there was only one Z in the lot a 2013+ gun metal w/ a big 95 on the door! Me wife loved every mile of it as we rolled down to Robinville and back out! Wished I could have stayed around for the fun and run..... But, we were there! Guys enjoy, be safe and have fun! 5am tomorrow we'll be back on the road and home in Mich. by 3pm. |
Yesterday. I was getting the Z ready for the trip. Jacked it up. Changed oil and filter. Grease the swaybar bushings. Pull the tires off to change brake pads. Installed my YellowStuff pads. Look at the tires. The rears look good. Look at the fronts and crapped my shorts. Have cords hanging out of the very inside edge of both tires. I knew I was getting close, but not that close. :shakes head: I had ordered PSS 295's last Saturday. Today, go the the tire dealer. Said he is having a time getting them. Told me that they are being discontinued. He can get them, but it may take a week. So I changed the order to the new Mich Pilot Sport 4S in 285/35-19. Guess what? They will be in this Friday. Not good. Go back to the house. Pull the rear oem wheels and tires out of the basement. Load the rims and tires in the truck. Jack up the front of the Z. Remove the front tires, and load them up in the truck. Go back to the tire dealer. Swapped the oem 285/35-19 tires for the old PSS's. So now I have 285/35-19 Yoko's on the front, and 345/30-19 PSS's on the rear. It should be an interesting drive to the Dragon. :driving:
|
Rusty,
Glad you had the spare oem's to cover you for the trip, it would have sucked if you didn't  Enjoy my brother, be safe! |

Made it home at 9pm. :icon14: Between the rain, construction and wrecks. :shakes head: should have been home sooner.
|
Guess who won the MAMotorsports diff cooler?
