I don't understand the excitement with going xxx MPH in a proper sports car, in a straight line.

Sure, my 1990 Sentra econo box got interesting above 85MPH because it had the aerodynamics of a cardboard box and a suspension engineered from discarded slinky toys. But it wasn't "interesting" in a good way.

In my 350, the diference between 70 and 150 was just road noise and possible jail time.

The 370 is really similar. The aero is really, really good and the car is just as planted and handles exactly the same well north of legal.

The only car I've had that was better at masking just how fast you were going was the SRT8 300 I had for several years before the 370... Not only was it super stable at ludicrous speed, but it was so quiet and the ride was so smooth that you'd be well into require-bond-to-go-home-speeds and not even know it.

In fact, the only problem I had with the 300 was it being a 4-door land-yacht when I was really wanting a 2-door sportscar.

The 370 does mask speed well. Was doing 90kmh dropped to 4th to overtake and next thing I'm doing 130... er oops. I like to give er some gas when passing trucks on my road trips. I rather not sit in their dead zone.

Me? Only cuffed once in the back seat of a B&W for reckless and evading. Ended up upside down in a ditch when they caught up to me. Didn't go to jail but that was before evading was a felony. Still, the reckless was a misdemeanor and had to spend 2 weekends hacking weeds at the local jail. Judge didn't seam very pleased with my driving skills. LOL Fine for the pair was about 8x of speeding at the time. Man I was stupid that day. Just so you know... if you loose it north of 100 you slide a really long ways...

You're just being silly. =) Speed is a rush/scare (i.e. excitement) for most people.... It may not be for you, but if you can't empathize with the rest of the human population, I'd say you might be a sociopath. =)

edit: I mean no offense here - just wanted to point out that you are a silly guy.

Most of these boy scouts on here are full of shiit!!! If you don't get that rush for adrenaline, then you don't need to be in a sports car or your car sucks azz and isn't right for you. I hit triple digits during the test drive like someone else had mentioned so to hear your guys say you always keep it at or under 55-60 is hilarious. I don't street race, but I haul azz when i get the urge as i'm sure most of you do, but i get it................ Shhhhhhh Trips Is Watching.

Changes in inertia are what you actually feel. Being pushed back in the seat when launching from a dead stop, transitioning the car through twisties, trail braking into a decreasing radius turn etc.

Do you get excited when going hundreds of miles per hour in a passenger jet? (At cruising altitude when nothing else is going on? ) No? What if you had a speedometer disply on the seat-back in front of you? I mean the number would be impressive...but there is no "feeling" to cause a "rush" unless you hit turbulance or something.

It's the same thing when driving a stable vehicle in a straight line at a steady speed....the speed doesn't matter when it's steady or changing at a fraction of the rate you could accelerate at much lower speeds. Nothing is happening.

The fear of getting caught or having something happen without time to react might cause a "scare", but it's not something I would seek out for its own sake.

*edit* I see you are in St Pete. My club is holding a fun day this Saturday in Lehigh on an old WWII air strip. It's only for members and invited guests. If you would like to experience some excitment in your vehicle, PM me.

Of course, we hold events open to the public too, but you can get a lot of seat time Saturday if you want.

If you think making a certain number appear on your dash is cause for a rush, try taking your car to an HPDE, or Autocross. Heck even a good drag strip can make the numbers on your dash an afterthought.

Better yet, Let Z1NONLY drive your car and you ride on the Dragon. Dang made me turn sheet white and was killing my neck. It was fun though even though he slowed down because I went said white.
