My z was 17000 and had 12k miles.

Why is everyone such babies about this? Its a performance car, like you never went over 100 anywhere with it?

Because admitting to going double the speed limit on a public forum isn't smart.

Why? You know how many lies exist on forums? Is there a real chance that state police are gonna come on a forum, look at the thread, track down the user, then keep a special lookout for a 370z going 125? As if they'd ignore it going 85?

In all seriousness, whats the maximum realistic negative consequences?

Chances are small that the authorities are lurking and looking for people bragging about their exploits. BUT ...

If you are in an accident where other people are killed/injured or other criminal/civil liability is involved, you can bet your a$$ that the lawyers know how to use Google and can easily find the comment(s).

Everyone does stupid **** from time to time. The key is to make sure there are no videos, pictures or other online evidence to be hung by. There's a certain segment of the population (damn dirty millennials) that seem to think that if it's not posted on social media it never happened. And then they act surprised when their video ends up being retitled "Exhibit A".

The first thing that will be listed on the search warrant will be to collect all electronic devices and media as well any physical evidence. The one thing those that act outside of the law have in common is the need to document their criminal deeds. If they are smart enough to not use electronic hardware they will have a hand written diary! And the last words they get to hear is we the jury find you guilty!

I've never seen more than 130 on a racetrack... usually because there's a right turn at the end of the straight. Unlike the highway. *cough

I'm fairly comfortable saying if you've done more than 130 mph, you were most likely on a highway.

And yes, Fight Club rules apply.

I'd add a bit to that: Be smart about being stupid.

Meaning don't put anyone in danger from your reckless behavior.

Here in the wide open expanses of Colorado we have perfectly flat stretches of concrete 4-lane that have clear visibility to the horizon, 50+ meter median/car traps between directions, and little to no traffic for hours at a time... Damn skippy you'll find folks in the triple digits out there, usually in six digit cars.

The real problem is when "kids" (I use that term loosely) start being stupid in subdivisions or residential streets because they see threads like this and wanna be a racecar driver...

Which is why we can't have nice things.
