VERY TRUE. WHEN I HAD MY BIKES AND WAS ACTIVE ON THE FORUMS. THERE WOULD USUALLY BE A THREAD AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH ABOUT A MEMBER, OR A MEMBERS FRIEND DYING. NOT FUN AT ALL. ID SAY 70/30 IT WAS BECAUSE OF USER "ERROR". :shakes head:

There is a time and place for everything. If you are doing something stupid. Pick the time and place that no one else is going down with you.

I've done a lot of stupid things in my youth. :shakes head: It's a wonder that I'm alive today. I know I'm paying the for for it now. I got more Ti in my body then most have on their Z's. :shakes head:

A safe place to try to do 125+, there is a company called Wannagofast https://wannagofast.com/
they rent out a private air airport and you can go as fast as you what in 1/2 mile and have about 1/2 mile to stop.

I did this a couple of years ago, time slip stated I was just short of 125, but there official timing said I hit 145. I believe 125, car at that time was 100% stock.

Check it out, lots of cars, fast cars, i think top speed for the weekend was 202mph.

Agreed, I was big into the R1-Forum, we did Deals Gap as our convention and after a few visits I thought I was relatively fast on the street. Locally I also thought ( Thought is the operative word.) I was fast. I got talked into a track day and told them I should be Intermediate because I was pretty fast on the street. They giggled and had me run with the Novice group "To warm up". The warm up lap put it all in perspective. First, you absolutely do not know the real capability of your vehicle until you've run it at 8/10th or better in a controlled environment. Second once exposed to those capabilities you realize the futility of trying the same thing in a sea of clueless mortals. After a year of track days I stopped riding on the street and rode track 98% of the time. When I did ride on the street it was frustrating knowing that I was holding so much back. Same principal applies with cars.

Yeah, have over $25,000 worth of Ti in my a$$ and foot. :shakes head: That's just for the parts. You could say my youth has caught up to me. And now paying the price. My left knee may need some Ti in the near future. :shakes head:

I did the same thing, and thought the same way too when I started out doing trackdays with motorcycles when I got back into them in 2003.

I'll be heading there in my future too. Tryna get the most out of my knees as I can. Have blow them both out in football twice each. On top of it braced my left one the first time sophomore year and played on it all season. :ughdance:

I know the concussions will catch up with me more than just headaches soon too but enjoy life to the fullest. Had an awesome time playing my 4 years :happydance:

Nope, I've got a $5000 piece of Ti the size of a silver dollar or so in the back of my head. Which should leave me around 91% but a lot of days I feel closer to 60% :p

There are days it'd be nice to treat downtown like your playing GTA with Ken Block :driving:
