I mean don't get me wrong, the "car guy" obviously knows about the 370Z but it seems like every average Joe or Jane seem to think this is a 350Z.

I guess that isn't a bad thing because it gives a rarity the 350Z didn't have but kinda gets annoying explaining over and over again. Maybe it is just me, but in the Philly area this seems to be the case but then again I can count on one hand how many Z34's I've seen since their release.

For instance, I ran into a girl friend of mine and she says "why did you get another 350Z?" :shakes head:

either way when youre cruising down 5 heading to the commerce EVERY time a car will pull up and get a gooood look.

they think its some kind of audi /porshe'esque vehicle that was smooshed together, either way its funny how their jaws drop and you can see the whites of their eyes *joy*

How 'bout calling both 350s AND 370s "Porsches"?? It's happened, too!

Japan is copying Germany

Im speech less.

Pheonix 12-05-2009 12:28 PM

I find it amusing when it happens. My little cousin did it...her jaw dropped when she saw it on Thanksgiving, and goes..."YOU GOT A PORSCHE?!"

But then the opposite occurred with this girl I've started seeing. She saw it, her jaw dropped...and she said "You got a 370? Those only just came out!". And then my mental jaw dropped, cuz this girl knows her cars, and thats nothing but a bonus in my book. :rofl2:

370Zsteve 12-05-2009 12:33 PM

My 370Z causes near-accidents in CT and has the strange ability to force BMW, Audi, Evo and WRX-STi and even Porsche owners into feats of utter douchebaggery. :rofl2:

kdo2milger 12-05-2009 12:39 PM

wait :ugh:

you mean to tell me that im driving a damn japanese nissan and not a german porsche

oh boy :shakes head: the dealership really stuck it to me on this one...

i was wondering why a japanese dealership had german porsches on the lot :worship:

thankfully they don't copy german quality control. otherwise we'd all be driving loaner versas 90% of the time while the z is in the dealership service department being fixed.

phelan 12-05-2009 01:37 PM

That is what my old lady said when she saw a red one at the dealer.

BTW, in my area there are few 370s but 350s are everywhere, especially the Silver color.

Wonder why I got rid off mine and got a 370... :icon17:

Red370 12-05-2009 02:21 PM

I'll be honest, I've never, EVER, had a car turn as many heads as my baby does, people seriously break their necks looking at it, I like looking through the little windows behind the seats just to get peoples reactions without them noticing me scoping them out, its utterly hilarious, and yeah people that dont know cars usually think its a 350 at first, and most of the douchebaggery comes from 350 drivers I see on the street, jealousy is a motherfukker.

Cjanik 12-05-2009 02:26 PM

I agree, I've never had so many people lock their eye's on the 370z, in comparison to other cars i've owned. I love it :) even my wife is like "Look, they are staring at us!"

350Z's have not been bad to me, a lot of them gave me thumbs up, or just stare at the stop light.

 I highly doubt 350z owners care

Jesus dude you act like you own a supercar

Jones Boy 12-05-2009 02:39 PM

I was going to get the Z tinted today, and the guys at the audio/tint shop had never even seen one. I was kind of shocked, but at the same time I like the fact that they are not super common in this area.

dharvison 12-05-2009 03:22 PM

I stayed at the Westin recently and used the valet when I returned to the hotel after dinner.

Next morning, I checked out and gave the valet my ticket for him to retrieve my car and then waited in the front with folks that were waiting for their cars (either by valet or their sig other).

My VERY yellow 370 came slowly along the drive and I just waited till it was parked before I started walking towards it. I had detailed it the day before so it looked spectacular driving up. All I heard was, "Wow", "Man, will you LOOK at that", and my favorite..."Honey, what IS that?". No car guys among them, I guess.

I non-chalantly walked up to my car, tipped the valet, and drove off. Slowly. Peeked at the rear mirror and yes, quite a few heads were turned my way.

It was awesome!

Nick911sc 12-05-2009 03:55 PM

Someone asked me if it was a Maserati lol

areyouin729 12-05-2009 03:56 PM

the one thing I hope I can say about the 350Z is, there are a lot of guido douches driving them

I believe the 370Z will nix this, I saw a dude valet park his 2003/04 350Z and get out like it was a Lambo over the summer, all I could do was laugh but I guess he was cooler than me with his Chanel "CC" earrings

didymus 12-05-2009 04:12 PM

Too bad you guys can't easily debadge the burgers.. then you could have some fun with these people hehe..

Was it a 2003.5? :icon17:

By the way, I saw a very hot blonde driving a 350 roadster yesterday. Not a guido in sight.

Seriously! I see more "BMW" and "Mercedes Courtesy Vehicle" loaners driving around here than the actual owner's car. Sad.

GingaBreadMan 12-05-2009 05:16 PM

That's because ppl don't read. All they do is watch tv. There aren't any commercials for the 370z.

NYBladeZ 12-05-2009 05:16 PM

I personally don't mind, a big reason why I got the Z is due to the fact that it probably won't be "well known" for awhile. I like the unique feel, everyone around here drives BMW's especially those 335i's

theDreamer 12-05-2009 05:19 PM

Not a huge deal, only a few people know I drive a 370z. Most everyone else thinks it is a 350z, and while I try to stay away from being a "douche 350z" owner (and yes there are some great 350z owners who I have met), it is tough. Though if anyone usually asks about it, and says 350z I will politely say it is a 370z, but then another 20 questions come out since it is something new.

NYBladeZ 12-05-2009 05:21 PM

back of my car says Fairlady adding to the overall confusion

Same here, I do enjoy sometimes I am at a light and see people point at it with a "WTF?" look on their face.

:rofl2: that is exactly the type that drive 350Z's, it hurts my feeling because save that for the Mustang

the 370Z is such a beautiful car, I wake up and see it out my window and just smile haha

GTRFAN 12-05-2009 06:16 PM

I was leaving a mates house yesterday and one of the neighbours stopped me and said how much he liked it. It's still new here in Oz and not everyone has caught onto it. They always say. "Is that the new 350?"

So explain how 350z drivers are douchebags?

areyouin729 12-05-2009 06:43 PM

I don't mean all 350Z owners but there are some like that, I owned a 350Z and loved it but they are so plentiful
