Despite the fact I do really love rowing my own gears, and would cheerfully choose a manual in a sports car over any auto, no matter how much faster the auto is for sheer driving pleasure. Stuck in awful, hot traffic every day, Im hoping Nissan serves up a sweet DCT in the Z35. Frankly id be shocked if it wasnt a DCT.
Knowing that the 3.0tt (in the q60/q50)is still paired with the 7AT we currently use, unfortunately it doesn't seem like it. But I'd love to be surprised by Nissan. inb4 CVT lol

Well written and really quite accurate. You can't find much out there that is similar, as they noted. As for the Corvette, I don't see NISMOs like mine (2011) on every street corner like Corvettes. I like that bit of exclusivity and I still think the car has good looks and a timelessness to it. It's a pretty car!

I agree to a certain extent. I love the Z34, especially the uniqueness they have(which is why I got one instead of a Vette), but if I had to do it all over again I would probably look into a older used C6 Grand Sport. The Z requires too many "fixes" that Nissan was too lazy to address in order to make this "sports car" be able to go "sport".

Other than an oiler cooler, what 'fixes' would you need to do to the car? You are going to change fluids/pads on pretty much any street car you plan to track so I'm not really sure what else needs to be done to an OEM Z to make it go 'sport'.

Fuel starvation(experienced this about 3 weeks ago), oil cooler, and lastly the CSC. Yeah, that's alot of money to make it 'sport'. In a C6 GS I'd just need some DOT 4 and I'd be ready to rock.

I don't think you "need" to fix the CSC or fuel starvation to enjoy the car on the track. My original point still stands.

No but if your car goes down at the track, or you get a sh*t lap time because you lost power, you're going to wish you had. MY point still stands.

Agree, if you are quick at the track already and got your new 370z you will face starvation in your first outing there, it happens even if you are over 3/4 fuel tank. This is what happened to me, getting 2:34 at track and decided to go harder but starvation kicked, not getting anywhere near it, and I am still on street tires. Heck, I faced it on street recently, where I made a quick right turn at intersection and the car starved I didn't believe it may happen on street.

And it is a great article about the car and I agree with him mostly, the Z will be a great daily and track worthy with some mods.

I checked other articles and I think he may become one of my favorite authors

I'm assuming you never owned a C6 Vette? If you think the 370Z requires too many fixes, it is nothing compared to what you would probably face with an older C6 Corvette. We are talking GM here, don't forget. I owned a pristine, low mileage C5 (almost same car as a C6 except for minor changes and facelift) for 8 years and you don't know what "too many fixes" means until you've owned the "great American sports car". In the end, I was glad to trade it in due to the multitude of "fixes" that it still needed that were driving me absolutely insane. My buddy's C6 was even worse. It's chockfull of electronic gremlins.
