Rick out !

There are a lot of viable sports cars out there that outperform ours. And with the supra and stinger coupe coming out. I doubt it....

No disrespect to my fellow Americans but. Germany Japan Italy and do it better. Even though Germany unnecessarily resorted to computers too.

My suggestion is a solution to the problem. Where it is made gets around the tariffs. Who makes it here in the States no one cares anymore. What is made is a different issue. That's market driven. As many of us mechanical and tactile bunch of drivers disappear from the face of the earth and the new tech generation take over our roads, the tech laden systems in cars will be the staple. It'll be much cheaper to make too. The auto industry as we know it today will be vastly different in 20 years maybe even less.

Hold on to your Zs people (or get rid of it depending on which side of the fence you are). It'll be a relic much sooner than you think.

Giving an personal opinion on our president or start making comments like one or two members started doing already. Namely Chan Chee Ho It is NOT A POLITICAL THREAD.

I took the large red font as a joke, a poor one, but a joke :)

Your point regarding a trickle down effect in the economics (global) of car sales is a valid one and if US policy changes impact sales of the bread and butter cars, the low volume units are not going to get funded.

By Saying it is *Trump* and not, accurately, the republican party's proposed policy changes, makes it political and divisive. Using Trump in the title (as you did) is click bait and takes away again from a valid hypothetical discussion point.

I'd argue the Z's future has been in doubt far before the US election and potential policy changes given a lack of any leaks, spy shots, nor excitement from Nissan for some time now.

I'd love a 3.0L 3200lb light turbo screamer with a T top for a Z35 but I know I'm not gonna be getting that :)

It's been said that babies born today won't even know how to drive!
A lot of news coming out of The Detroit auto show is about atonamus vehicles.

Does anyone know of friend or family members who are of age but delay getting their driver's license ? I do ! I guess the hand writing is on the wall.

As time goes on and we age out driving as we know and enjoy will fade to black.

About a year ago I read about some pole results that I found unbelievable. A survey was taken of people in their 20s. They asked them what they could not live without: their drivers license or their cell phone. The vast majority of them said their phones. For me, my car and DL have always meant freedom, but these young people don't care about that anymore. They just want to sit alone and text with one another. Don't get me wrong, I love my smart phone, but I would never choose it over my car or DL.

They associate their text conversations and group chats with being social. That's why most of them seriously lack in interpersonal communications and social skills.

I don't even own a smart phone. It is the Z all the way. I plan on keeping it until the state won't let me drive anymore. I think with all this current speculation I'll just sit back & see what happens. :driving:

About 18 months after I bought my Z I got engaged. A number of my friends asked me if I was planning to sell the car to pay for the wedding. A few months later I bought a house. They asked if I was going to sell it to help pay for the house. A few years later we had a baby. Again, the Z questions came. A year after that I sent my step-son off to college and yet again people asked If I was going to sell the Z. My final answer was something to this effect: "NO! I'm not selling the Z. I'm never selling the Z, so stop asking. When I drop dead, prop me up in the driver's seat, dig a HUGE hole, put the entire car in it with me at the wheel and then cover us both with dirt."

OK.... ummm... concerning the click bait. I took the Trump off the article title. Trump represents the republican party and you getting so overly technical about click bait I'd say you're a Trump supporter. Lol.

As you read my posts, I never mentioned trump as the whole premise of my opinion. But rather the other half of your rebuttal. Which is the valid part. That YOU AGREE that if the sentra and Versa can't sell here. It will be hard to support a low volume car.

Technically we did get a concept last year called the Grip Z... Then, unofficially a car sketch was born.

Rumors of the Z being on a brand new platform that the Juke will be on has come out. It has been rumored the Z will come out after the Juke.
And there's been more news than people feel but, we've gotten nothing tangible and the delay is UNREAL. Everyone is coming out with new models and major refreshes two times over while we look at the same car with a fascia change, a non functioning oil cooler and a Nismo body kit that looks great but I think we would have done better refining the engine, upping the power a Lil and enhancing the suspension to have less lean. Not roll. But lean.

Well here in Canada we just imposed a carbon tax forcing up gas prices (all energy in general). With the z not being the most gas efficient this will further deter the purchaser vs those eco boost thingies....

If Murica stops getting the z I'm pretty sure Canada won't either. We get what America gets and never the other way around. Minus we get less options

madeinjapan 01-09-2017 09:38 AM

fine with me my z will be worth more now

Things would have been so much easier if we all had just voted for Vermin Supreme.

If you don't know who he is, just search his name on youtube.
