I don't live in a FREEZING cold place, but my car has been sitting on RS3s outside with no movement for 2-3 months (days have been 50-65, nights 40-50), flat spotted, it went away pretty quickly though

I don't DD mine and it does sit for months sometimes, but I use some memory foam type rubber squares under my tires and they seem to work pretty well.

Rather than putting it on your suspension, why not use your jack points on both sides? They were designed to hold the weight so I don't get it. What am I missing?

I suggest washing it, hooking the battery to a tender and covering it with a quality cover for the winter.
I went through 3 sets of OEM potenzas and never had any issues, this past summer I switched to Nismo wheels with Michelin PSS so we will see if I get any flat spots this year. But with the potenzas 6 months at a time I never had any flat spots.

I think they are concerned about having the suspension with no load on it. But IMO that won't hurt it, that's like saying the the parts in the package waiting for purchase or install etc. would be damaged as they are not under load either.
axmea? and old guy like this.

I always recommend a quality tire: Michelin, Yokohama, Toyo and Dunlop have all served me well over the years. Michelin is by far the best, but also the most expensive. Remember, you get what you pay for.
