My 05 G35 had this feature as well but the fob was a different shape and I almost never pressed the buttons accidentally. The new fob has bigger buttons that are much easier to press.

I think AK has the soft leather pouch for the fob, I will look for something hard shell. I could also glue the button cover to the shell, but something that is ultimately reversible is what I'm after.

Hey Chris, I was planning on buying this fob protector but never end up getting it. Maybe I should look into it again.

I haven't seen this fob protector from the usual vendors... have you seen these forsale from a reputable site? Do dealers carry them?

Got mine here. They are out now but send them an e-mail:
eBay Store ? Ralli Art 3000GT: Search results for.

Although, sometimes in the pocket the Z emblem will press the panic button on the fob. Happed to me a few times.

$100 bucks, holy smokes. I know this is an import item, but that's pretty steep. Have we tried for a group buy before?

This happened to me this morning. I thought I was drunk last night or something. Which button is it exactly that permits the auto-lowering of the windows?

iceman21_23 02-10-2010 12:24 PM

hmmm are you guys sure that its the fob? has anyone had it happen with out having the fob in your pocket? i know a few 350z had this problem and it was an indication of the window motor going out

370zproject 02-10-2010 12:38 PM

thats why i put the key in one pocket and my phone in the other or in my jacket

I've had this happen in the Z and our Altima. Came out of the store, windows were down and the trunk was open. Glad nothing was in the Altima at the time.

Zguy 02-10-2010 01:18 PM

yea It happens to me all the time.... My wife has an Altima coupe so I have her fob on my key ring.... I walk out to her windows down quite often... that or I set her alarm off.....

I've noticed that the unlock button can be very easily activated (and I keep my phone in my other front pocket). There have been a number of times that I've walked up to my Z and found that it was unlocked (and I always lock it when I'm not in it).

I had my windows tinted today and had some issues with the automatic window lowering and catching the FR corner of the film.

I disabled it temporarily by removing the screw located on the door switch. This is the ground for the system.

That is a install issue. Most tinter's will install low enough where you do not have that issue.
