any accident that you file a claim for with insurance and get a police report gets added to your carfax report. it'll take a while to show up on there though so you might not see it right away

Here in Manitoba, Canada rear ending is a sport. I haven't had new car in 20 years that hasn't been hit by somebody not paying attention to what they are doing. Also, here in Manitoba the police will not come to most accidents (nor are they required to by the province) so the settlement process can end up a he says/she says situation.
My Z has been hit twice in 5 years.

dont idel in neutral or 1st gear without your foot on the brake pedal, people arent used to seeing a car without lites, they think its moving when the lites arent on, use your brake pedal when you are stopped and you wont get hit anymore

Agreed - have been doing this 99% of the time, and the 1% that it slips my mind, I find the guy (more often girl) behind me jerk forward as if I actually moved... very disturbing. However, even with the foot on the brake, it is still not a sure thing - just lessens the probability by a good bit...

So I decided to go with the Nismo rear. I ordered the bumper from my local Nissan dealer for $450 and arranged a shop to paint the bumper for $200. I did a fitment testing and everything was spot on except the inner fender.

As you can see, there is a small inner fender gap with the Nismo bumper but it's no big deal. I will probably fill that gap with some black plastic piece.

Nice choice. Where are you taking it for paint?

Ya, $200 is cheap to paint a bumper! Just make sure they do quality work and you're completely satisfied. Nice looking bumper though.

Hey Raf,

I'm taking the bumper to this shop called Sharp Auto Painting. I've heard pretty good reviews about the place. Do you have a recommended shop?

And also, I went through your full list of front Nismo conversion parts and you managed to get a quote for $650, which seems unusually low. How and which dealer did you get the deal from?

Thanks

jaedub - Glad to see you got the Nismo bumper! At least something good came of it!

I thought this product was funny, but I dunno after getting hit 3x I would probably consider rocking this car butt - life preserver looking thing.

It does kind of look like a diaper on a Porsche tho. ha ha

Glad to see you're upgrading! I had the same intent before they decided to total mine after being hit on Christmas...I was hit while he was going 45ishmph though, so I guess that's the difference

As bad as people are here, I can't imagine my daily rage levels if I lived where you do. Lol
