Good you're ok. December 18th last year a woman pulled out in front of me and totalled my Tundra. Your car does'nt look bad but I'd want it totalled for a couple reasons. If they don't total it'll be on carfax as an accident car but if you have it for the sheer joy of the car then it could be an aftermarket opportunity. As in Nismo bumpers , Sparco/Recaro seats as replacements, new wheels the whole shebang. If they do total it that's another opportunity to buy it back and salvage it or part it. Either way I'd be keeping that bastard. Geico cut me a check shortly after I was out of the hospital ( My femur was broken in my crash. ). There's a time limit they should adhere to for payout.

It can go both ways. Depends on the adjuster. Glad you both are OK

Praise the Lord you get to see another day. Sorry about the situation. I was hit in ranger truck and had to punch the accelerator so the car hit the bed or it could have been worse( driver door).Be careful and drive like everyone is after you defensive.

That is exactly what I had to do. My passenger later pointed it out to me later when we got our breath back.

Been there, done that sad to say. I know what it's like to have your Z destroyed in an accident.
But you and your friend are OK and that's the main thing. Your next Z will be even better. Keep you head up, hope your recovery is a speedy and complete one, and good luck to you! |

Many years ago as a young man, similar to you, I had an elderly man run a light into my 280Z and totaled it. Being my first accident and a car I really prized, I understand how nerve wracking this must be for you.
I wish you and your passenger a speedy recovery from your back injuries and hope the insurance companies compensate you fairly. Good luck and just remember, the Z is replaceable but you and your friend are not. |

That sucks bro, but like everyone else said cars can be replaced people can't be. I'm glad y'all are both alright.
Hopefully her insurance doesn't try to screw around. |

Damn, sucks to see this happen but it could have been worse. Just imagine if she was traveling 40+ mph. I'm glad you and your passenger is OK.
I highly doubt your Z is totaled. Fix her up again and get it back on the road. Make sure you claim depreciation if this accident drops the value of your car. GL with repairs! |

Don't have anything different to add, but I feel for you in terms of frustration. #1 is both of you are on your feet still, the car can be replaced one way or another, but the burden of the process....just keep your head up and stay focused on doing everything right vs. being in a rush to get back on track.

UPDATE 12/22/16
Car has been determined as Totaled. Adjuster quoted 14k in damages to the car. Hoping to get into another 370z in the near future, My parents really want me to get a Sedan, but it is my money so Ill spend it how I want to. but if I do end up going the sedan route looking at a G37 so i'll still be in the VQ life.

I'd give time on the decision. I mean if it's your daily driver, there's big factors to revisit. As much as I knew what I had coming, knowing doesn't exactly help the situation of having the Z as a daily driver. My only gripe about the G37 is that it's comparably way more common than the Z. That's an allure that's hard to get past. |
