** Yes, that's you to a tee! *** Then stop bothering us and polluting our forum every time you buy a used Z. Now please, hop into your "used" Miata and :gtfo2: |

i mean da current mx5 was on my short list too (while keeping my Z ofcourse), but thing is just too whimpy. if i added wider wheels and stuff, den it wont be the nimble car it was designed to be.. wat i really wanted was a modern version of a s2k.
changed gears, ended up getting a STI. lol havent looked back. thing is a blast to drive  |
Used to have a NA MX5, fun as hell but you'd have been better served with a used S2000. Way more balls, just as fun, and just as reliable if not more so.

Can't blame OP. Those Miata doors are fuckin amazing!

A 10 year old s2000 is still infinitely better than a new Miata. The handling is WAY better. The engine is WAY better. The car puts down more power. The interior is stunning to look at and fantastic to sit in. In comparison, being a previous Miata owner, a Miata is lame with out 10k put into it. The suspension is meh. The seats are meh. The power is nowhere to be found, the body rigidity is meh. So on, and so forth. But then again, if OP is blind and can't follow the rules of the road, then yeah, he shouldn't be in a Z, or anything sporty, whatsoever. I'm thinking maybe a bus pass is better suited for him. :icon17: |
One of my friends has a brand new miata, honestly the car does handle very well, the gearbox is smooth, two fingers to shift it!
It is a fun car to drive, on very technical tight twisty roads it can hold its own. The downside imo, is lack of power and it is a small car, interior is tight. Bolt on a supercharger, double the power and it would be even more fun to drive, imo |
I found the stock suspension to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too soft. It's made for your average, 40-50 year old guy who wants to feel the breeze through whatever remaining hair he has, and not one who's looking for a car to push and mash around corners.
The only reason a Miata can "hold it's own" is because of how light it is. If it weighed anymore, the suspension setup would be horribly noticeable. It took 4 chassis bars and some nice coilovers to get the car where I wanted it. |
