I got the new dash top!

Very happy with the results of the brand new dash top that replaced the melted weathered one. It complements the rest of my mint condition nismo Z.
I had the car almost a year and I just couldn't look at the beat one any longer. Fort Lauderdale Nissan dealership gave me a big discount saving me about a grand ,and even gave me a 2016 suv to use for free. It was in the shop just about a week givin the holiday. I have been buying cars and going to shops for 35 years and this is the 1st time I can remember being genuinely taken care of :) |
sounds good. so wat are u doing to take care of dis one?

How much out of pocket did you have to shell out?

The dealer ship was generous as far as the price, and a free rental car. |

Other dealers were at $2935. plus tax and they weren't budging on the price at all. I got lucky with Fort lauderdale Nissan. |
I would suggest tinting the whole front window with 70% or 80% ceramic tint. It will help protect the new dash. I would not put anything on the dash. Those coatings tend to trap heat in the dash and make it crack even worse. I just use a damp Microfiber to clean mine. Dash removal jobs are fun. I have done about 7 when I was turning wrenches at a Nissan dealership.

Louie, be sure to save your receipts.
When I got my Z I "gave" my 2004 Toyota to my son. It had a cracked dash and glove compartment door due to the heat, and the cracking worsened after he got it. A few months later, I got a letter from Toyota offering to replace it, which they did which was astonishing to me since the car was 10 years old. The letter said there had not been a recall, but they were replacing damaged ones anyway. Whatever. But the letter also stated that they would reimburse owners who had paid to have theirs replaced previously IF they could furnish proof. I'd hang on to my receipts just in case. You never know. After a couple of years of my son's driving and general abuse, I wish the rest of my old Toyota's interior looked as good as that dash does  |

2415 is nothing if ure happy with how it turned out. id just suck it up. not worth my time either running around for a few grand. |
as far as cleaning the interior. i just barely mist up (just a tad moist is all it needs) a MF towel using Griot's Speed Shine (yes, the quick detailer)and wipe down everything. including nav screens, cluster gauges, etc.

no need for fancy, and definitely KEEP FAR AWAY FROM ARMORALL!

I use this stuff, does not leave a high gloss but just a nice clean surface.
|
I use a product called Prima Nero when I dress plastics. It is a matte finish as well. I dilute it with water 50:50
