Bought my Z last night, but....

So, I came in here to cry for a bit. I bought my Z last night (11/30) around 7:30 at night. I love it, and it looks fantastic. Bought a Monterey Blue Sport/Tour with Nav and a 6mt. Anyways, I'm betting I'm the only person that's purchased there Z and not driven it for over 24 hours.

I had to drive my Tahoe for work this morning and got home way late tonight, and now it's supposed to rain and light snow tomorrow. Sniff sniff.

But it is awesome. I've been waiting 15 years almost for a sports car and I finally have one. I'm praying for sunshine tomorrow.

MeetJoeAsian 12-01-2009 10:30 PM

Man, congratZ...and I'm very sorry for your unfortunates...hehehe...I'd go out to the garage and start the engine and just sit in the driver's seat for a little bit if I were you..hehehe....when I bought my Z, I drove it 500 miles the first day....then again, I picked it up 500 miles away from home..heheh....loved every bit of the drive...

kenchan 12-01-2009 10:32 PM

congrats. :p

nono, if you're not going to drive it for more than 15min, dont start the car. :D
(dont want moisture buildup in the midpipe...)

Jones Boy 12-01-2009 11:03 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I keep walking out into the garage to gawk at it. I guess my daughter went out in the garage this morning after I left for work. She is three. My wife said she said it was beautiful and wanted to know where her car seat was going to go.

I'm consoling myself by reading manuals.

dudafunk 12-01-2009 11:07 PM

LOL... I'm happy for u sir!

hahaha, that's cute. i got two little ones myself and they too were wondering when they were going to be taken out for a ride. :D

so i showed them a dvd (i have an aftermarket HU in there) and they seem to be satisfied now. :p

Congrats...

Congrats - I can feel your pain. I bought my Z and drove her home, and put her in the garage. Woke up the next morning like a kid on x-mas waiting to drive the long way to work - only to find a large pool of power steering fluid on the garage floor (nearly slipped on the nasty stuff). Drove it right back to the dealer. Turns out they didn't crush a crush washer at the factory, (I picked up the car with 3 miles on it) and no one noticed.

so yes, I can feel your pain - getting a new toy and not being able to unwrap it- the break in period only makes it worse :)

Asi 12-02-2009 07:25 AM

grats have fun with your Z

John Bradley 12-02-2009 10:27 AM

Congrats :)

Eric 12-02-2009 11:42 AM

Congratulations on your new Z.

Be careful drive it in the SNOW if you haven't put Blizzaks on it already!

elmz 12-02-2009 12:26 PM

Congrats on your new Z. I think we can all relate...I put over 1k miles the first week I got mine =).

Jones Boy 12-02-2009 12:48 PM

Well, I've had a light schedule today so I've at least gotten to sit in it and play with the nav and radio. I'm debating on whether to take it out. It is so clean and pretty I don't want to find a puddle and get it dirty.

I'm guessing blizzaks (without googling yet) is some kind of heavy duty wax?

WhiskeyHotel 12-02-2009 01:23 PM

They are winter tires - congrats on your Z.

Never hurt the mid pipe!It is the moisture in the oil when not run long enough to disapate the moisture from starting in cold conditions.

mattkim85 12-02-2009 02:45 PM

^ damn that sucks for me

my commute is a little over a mile...
the long way is 2 miles lol

SlikNik 12-02-2009 02:48 PM

bro...get her as dirty as you can by driving her as much as you can right now, then clean her up and store her...according to what you said, you live in a snowy region. I'd take her out now and just have as much fun as you can, then give her a good bath and store her...remember, cars are made to get dirty...and when it's dirty, you clean them...so, take her out and get her feet wet...

Im confused as to why alot of people think you cant drive this car in the rain or light snow. It will handle as well as any car in rain and snow. Take that car out right now and drive it, thats what its for, enjoy it. Ive drivien my Z in the rain and it handles very well in the rain and will do so in light snow too, as long as you know how to drive in snow. When it does get sunnier give her a good wipe down or do it in the garage.

Jones Boy 12-02-2009 09:12 PM

Well, I'm not saying you can't drive it in the snow or rain. I just don't want to have to detail the whole thing out after doing it. I live in central Oklahoma so we don't get much snow at all. I did take my daughter out in it this afternoon. Got the cars all moved around so they are all in the garage now. She said it was beautiful and awesome. I think she's pretty smart for being only 3 and having such great taste in automobiles.

Wife and I get a date night on Friday night so we are really looking forward to getting to take the car out.

c'mon man, drive it like you mean it. the Z is good for any weather.

j.arnaldo 12-04-2009 12:22 PM

Enjoy it before the blizzards start, dude! Congrats'! I can enjoy my 350Z all year through, but the sun fades my paintjob (I live in a condo', so my beaZt sleeps outdoors 365 days a year!). There's just no perfect place on planet Earth!

LETSGOEERS06 12-04-2009 12:42 PM

congrats man! good luck with it, and be safe!

PapoZalsa 12-04-2009 08:22 PM

I just got mine today and tomorrow is going to be 46ºF raining and probably some snow. So I feel your pain. :(

GETU1 12-04-2009 10:17 PM

Congrats, man!! I got you beat, I waited 31 years for my Z. :happydance:

Don't worry about the gawking. I bought my car in October and I still go out into the garage to gawk at it...every night... before I go to bed.

Your daughter is smart and has great taste.

Jones Boy 12-05-2009 12:55 AM

Holy cow this thing is a blast to drive! Wifey and I got to take it out tonight on a date. She loves it as well.

ricky bobby 12-05-2009 05:50 AM

Congrats! Drive it, dirty it, clean it, repeat. Enjoy, got some snow 2day but i'm more worried about the road salt. My Z is probably in the garage for the season:crying:
