Why no comparison with Lexus IS or Infiniti Q50?

How do the Lexus or Infiniti cars compare with the Z. Would someone with a 2014+ model consider it a trade up or down if it's to a used IS

How do the Lexus or Infiniti cars compare with the Z. Would someone with a 2014+ model consider it a trade up or down if it's to a used IS 250, a Q50, IS 350 with the same mileage?

Agree to the above. My wife has a 2015 IS350 AWD F Sport. Arguably is as fast the 370Z and holds up well in the twisties. But just isn't the same feel.

A sport-tuned sedan just doesn't have the same character or dynamics as a purpose built spots car.

But if you have to make the sacrifice for personal reasons - like me...a sport-tuned AWD sedan can help take the monotony out of the daily commute. I've beat the hell out of my 2012 TL AWD and its held up admirably for 135k+ miles.

But if you make the change just to have something different, you will be disappointed.

I'm counting the days to my next Z Car, Cayman, or used 911.

Entirely different classes....but this isn't a completely wrong question if you are completely versatile in car selection. Sports saloons and sedans, as cars in general, can be fulfilling enough to own.

I was actually in this same situation. Family really wanted me to get an IS. The 350 F Sport is a really nice car to be honest, million times more practical, and like mentioned it's no slouch. But I didn't absolutely need to have it. For the money I opted to indulge and take on compromises with the Z.

So if this is in fact the situation OP is in, then it just boils down to practicality in your area.

If you want to drive a boat then get the sedans. If you want to drive a scalpel on wheels then get the Z.

I have a 2nd Gen is250 awd. 3rd Gen is350 awd f sport. I can guarantee that neither car can take the z in a corner.

I get dusted by GTI and prius all time off the line. Lol oh well

Funny, I just started looking into those IS 350 F Sport cars the other day and now this thread pops up.

Why not? A Saloon can have equal or better acceleration, braking, or cornering grip.

Hell the Macan Turbo beats the Z on the first 2 and grips at 0.89g vs the Z's 0.90g.

So similar performance, similar price point, and then you're really just weighing what size/space you prefer.

.90g? Ummm. It's .94g on a base Z .99g on a sport. 1g on a Nismo.

In this particular test the sport touring got 1.01g

A Saloon or SUV may got better performance than the Z,but they are still a 4 or 5 Seaters, while our Z are Selfish Car,only max 2 Persons can enjoy it.....like the Mazda MX-5,not really a good performer, but why so many people like it.?

2015 Nissan 370Z vs. 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo | REVdata

Here's an PDK macan vs a MANUAL 370z.
The manual Z gets to 60 in 4.9. An auto Z gets to 60 in .3 seconds faster which equals 4.6. The same time as the Macan. So with transmission being equal it's a drivers race and the Z out handles the Macan by a HUGE MARGIN!

You can't be serious? If you are, then you are missing the point of owning a true sports car. Yes, there are sedans and SUV's that are faster with great skid pad performance, but the feel is completely and I mean completely different. It's not about the numbers and how good it looks on paper. It's like comparing a horse to a camel. Trained race camels have been known to be faster than horses on occasion but which would you rather ride? Which looks more graceful and has a better feel? LOL.

PS: By the way, your skidpad numbers are wrong.
