updates on computer
Has anyone been to the dealer for computer updates to ECU. A friend said he took his 2008 chevy Tahoe in for $100 and they updated 8 programs and it ran better. Is that American cars only maybe??:driving:

Update, i dont think so, there is a recall for 2009-2010 wining ECU issue.
Other than that you can get it tuned...and its a night and day difference, especially on low end torque. |
Nissan usually notifies dealers of updates via TSBs. If there is an update available, you should be able to find the TSB on the web.

An update should only be needed if the vehicle is running like crap. It's not usually something that's done as a "add on".

I've had up-dates done on my Grand Cherokee and Power Wagon at times when I had to take them in for something. The up-dates wasn't for what I took them in for either. Toyota will do up-dates without them telling you that they did them. You have to ask what they all do when you pick up the vehicle. Otherwise, they won't tell you. Ford will do up-dates. Then tell you about it after you pick up the vehicle.
