Tree SAP marks on the car roof
Hi Everyone,
I need help !! I parked my car under a few couple of weeks ago, and it had sap on the roof of the car. I got the car washed and detailing, unfortunately, the sap has left some markings on the car and the coating ( not the paint) has come off in 3-4 spots. Do you guys know , whats the best way to get rid of them ? Also, how much does it costs to re coat the roof ? Thank you |

See if any of Junkman's videos will help.

A sap remover from an auto parts store should work well. After that, hit it with wax until you can't see the difference. If that doesn't work, you could try one of the clear coat restorer mixtures from the auto parts stores, but I personally haven't any experience using them.

This. Clay works wonders for removing sap.

I've seen saps that will etch right through CC. Hopefully that's not what you're talking about. If it's just a dull area, remove the sap & polish it out. Small areas you can probably hand polish.

My Z was firebombed with sap by a particular tree at my office. I tried everything, but just couldn't get it all off. I took it to my detailer, and he did the best he could, but the sap ate right through the clear coat. There are spots all over my hood.

Need to stay on top of sap on your paint ... those things if cleaned early won't eat into your clear coat.
I've had success with Meguiars Ultimate Compound and a lot of elbow grease on my light etching. |
