i hate steer by wire, i hate electronic steering assist while it might remove torque steer on fwd cars.

subaru did it right by keeping the hydraulic pump style on their current wrx/sti.

It's a buyers market all around for most cars but Z's are taking it especially hard.

And as to this... there is no performance detriment from it and only benefits, in a SPORTS car...

I say this...

Yeah, precisely why EVERY form of auto racing (except drag racing), a manual transmission or sequential transmission is used. Which I must reiterate, a sequential transmission IS a manual transmission.

And as for your analysis...

Okay, I'm done... For now.
Formula One cars are auto with paddle shifters aren't they?

You might also want to share your opinion with Chevy as they just curb-stomped the Ring in their ZL1 with the 10-speed auto, with the driver leaving it in D the entire way and scored a 7:29.60 time.

They're also more work and slower. I wouldn't pretend that laziness is the only reason.

Look, all I did was come on here and offer my opinion as to why your car wasn't selling. Not once did I say anything negative or rude about you or your car.

You're the one that got all bent out of shape and offensive with your first and second response back to me. Possibly because you know I'm right but you don't want to admit it.

If you wanted to successfully resell an automatic transmission car with no issues, maybe you should have bought a Toyota Camry instead of a Z. You know, the kind of car people actually WANT an automatic in.
Considering the majority of Zs are sold new with autos what makes you conclude the used car buyers significantly differ in their preference of transmissions?

Well considering it says "concept" right on the back I'd assume the former, lol.

Not really,a sequential manual gearbox is by definition a "non traditional" type of manual transmission.Fully automatic transmission systems, and gearbox-related wizardry such as launch control, are illegal in F1.
F1 are not auto and there is a clutch but the driver is not required to manually operate it.

To the original post-er; I am 99% sure I just bought your car from the dealership you sold it to; it was in impressive condition - Thank you!

I've owned two beautiful immaculate 350Z's over the years; one was totaled by a women who rear-ended me at a stop light, the other I sold when I got married and had a baby on the way; both manual touring models I drove as daily drivers.

In December of 2008, I attended the Indianapolis Auto Show and went about the whole show room seeing many fine machines and then this light from the heavens came down on this stunning 2009 Blue Sport Touring 370Z (which wasn't even available to the public yet). I drooled on it for almost 30 minutes and told myself that I will have this car someday when things settle down and the finances allow it more safely.

3 months ago I turned 40 and decided I would have a mid-life crisis (kidding).
Business has been good to me and when I brought up getting another car to my wife this time, she said "I'm ok with it but I'd prefer it were an automatic if I get to drive it". Taking this cue, I began the hunt.

Long story short, I found this car which fit every criteria I'd been searching for and it had low miles which blew my mind. After a difficult process to procure it (it took almost 1 month to get the car to my doorstep after paperwork mishaps and shipping delays), I finally have it in my garage

I feel almost guilty / unworthy sometimes when I see it in the garage or get in it to drive to work; it's so nice for the price they sell for and yet I know I've earned it through years of hard work and patience.

Maybe someday I'll get over that feeling - when I retire later on in life

For what it's worth, I sold my Z in October 2015 prior to moving to China. 2009 PG Nismo. 45k miles. MXP exhaust, 20" Volk G2 wheels, AEM EFI Intakes, Swift Springs, Alpine AVIC head unit, etc.

Received $25k after 1 week of opening the listing. The car was listed on Autotrader.

Earlier that year, I sold a 4Runner after being listed for 1 week on Autotrader, which also went for a good price.

Craigslist attracts sketchy people who will waste your time. Dealers will rip you off given they need to make a margin.

Try Autotrader.

I was located in Orange County, CA at the time.

Damn right! It's like saying that using your tablet to do research is lazy because you ain't going to the library.

It's like saying that using a calculator is being lazy and we should get notepaper and pencil.

It's like....

Why not hiring a race car driver to drive and you take the passenger seat? No work and faster!!!

Good point. My guess is the automatic fans would also love autonomous cars. No driver involvement whatsoever. A friend used to fly the Stealth Fighter. He said he couldn't wait for leave when he could fly his Cessna 172. He said the Stealth was so automated it was completely boring to fly.
