370bluez, To answer your initial question, I do believe the market is soft for Z's now. But not just Z's, 2 door sports cars are in a niche market, and I believe this market has gotten smaller over the years. I follow a Porsche forum, and talk about taking a hit. Cayman owners have it much worse than us Z owners.

I have a feeling that your color, while very nice, may not be appreciated by a large percent of the buyers out there. Also keep in mind, the added features/options that you have in your car which you paid for, depreciates a lot and may not mean much to a buyer in the secondary market.

I am looking to sell my Z next year, so I've been checking Craigslist occasionally, and it doesn't look favorable here either. Good luck on your sale.

I agree. I was surprised at the two offers I received. I was expecting something in the high teens. Also, in both cases, the Honda and Buick/GMC dealers were both giving decent discounts on the two vehicles we were interested in. In the end, we decided to hang on to the Z for another year.

The market for Zs is always soft. The higher the trim the worse the depreciation too. Chop 10,000 off a nismo the moment you drive it off the lot.

The fact that it's an AT7 doesn't help matters any. I too am old school and firmly believe that a sports car should only come with a MT. The closest thing I'd ever get to an AT is a sequential transmission, and that's still a manual. Flappy paddle autos don't count either.

The blue color, I could take it or leave it. Maybe if I were younger, I'd be more willing to buy blue.

At any rate, good luck on selling it.

What the ****. I need to move to the East coast.

I'm like OP in California. Paid that much for a 2013 S&T @ 30k miles earlier this year, albeit from a used dealer. I couldn't find any better deal in sight at the time.

This one's an AT7, but that seems to be all that's being offered around here:

OP I'm in CA. April 2016 I purchased a 2014 touring, sport, 7AT, 8,100 mi. One owner, dealer maintained and certified (couple oil changes) $27,750 plus tax title etc. your asking price seems fair. I flew from the Bay Area to SoCal and drove back.

Welcome to the world of owning a nissan, as much as i love these cars and still do ) this was my only gripe, the value of these cars goes to **** with a few exceptions such as the (240z HR 350 r34) now i know that buying a car is by no means an investment but darn man **** happens and once you are off the lot these things go for pennies on the dollar. Good luck with the sale man its a beauty of a car.

Right transmission choice is a preference if everyone wanted a manual they wouldn't sell automatics. It is what it is, this is like saying my dog got run over by a red car therefore every red car is worth nothing to me

Hey, I'm just saying... For an enthusiast, they're going for a manual, not an auto. Your average American Joe-Schmoe on the other hand, well you know... Whether that means anything to you or not, then so be it.

It's blue and an auto... Maybe try parking it in front of a nail or hair salon. You might have better luck in those locations.

I think this is pretty much the truth in most cases. My feeling is, again in most cases, those who drive an auto trans sports car were never taught by their dad how to drive a stick. There, I said it. Case in point: my SIL. My son, on the other hand, always insists on a manual in his vehicles. Although maybe that will change when he gets married, for practical reasons, the wife will no doubt insist that her car has an auto. But otherwise why would you drive a "true sports car" with an auto trans if a manual was offered? I mean, cars like the Z06 and Viper are only offered with a manual. (Only newer super cars like Ferrari, Lambo, and Porsche notwithstanding since they may not offer a manual in certain models)

This thread seems to have degenerated into a 6MT vs 7AT.
