Some rich guy just collected cars..never drove them.. just collected them. He lived in New Jersey and paid to have it transported from NY on a car carrier so it would not have the additional miles. Must be nice to have that kind of money. But I drove one a few years back that some stereo dealer I know was installing a sound system in..rough as hell...(ya I know the owner would have been pissed if he knew that! ) |

Did he sell his 370 and buy a 350? What was the outcome?

Throw the Z on the track and if you just rate raw performance. Z the is just as capable. For half the price I will take capability over refinement. The porsche is a great car but I love my "Crude lil Z". |

I wasn't aware the 370Z ran 4.3 0-60 and 12.8@111 quarter as the Porsche Cayman S does. Last I checked the Z was closer to ~ 5.0 0-60 and 13.4-13.5@ 105-106 quarter. That's not exactly close...
The Cayman S is right up their with the E92 M3. Nurbergring: Cayman S- 8:06 / E92 M3- 8:05. Laguna Seca: Cayman S: 1:43.00 / E92 M3: 1:42.97 / 370Z: 1:47.xx. VIR: Cayman S: 8:05.4 / E92 M3: 8:05.xx / 370z: 8:12. There's more that's just a sample. The base 265hp Porsche Cayman post test track #'s closer to the 370Z. But of course that's where the comparison ends as the Porsche Cayman is leagues above in every conceivable area and it should be starting at ~ 52K. It goes far beyond just more "refinement" as well it's the whole experience behind the wheel rather daily driving or the track. The Porsche Cayman is fundamentally Porsches best set-up car. The only thing keeping the 911 ahead #'s wise is power and perhaps a bit more attention here and there. There's a good reason for why the Porsche Cayman consistently rates among the best handling / driver's cars out there. There's not a better car out there for 50-60K (base Cayman) if you value driving above all else IMO. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?0ozjib Last edited by vo2max99; 05-18-2012 at 03:26 AM. |

Dont chase horsepower. . unless you really really enjoy the entire car overall. I came from an 07 350Z. thats right a 350z not a 370z. Traded the 350Z in for an 06 GTO that was modded. It was putting at least 400 to the wheels but I never dynoed it. The GTO has surprisingly good interior, far better than the Z, had insane power. The tranny was a lot smoother than the Z but I still really missed the Z. The sporty look, the body lines, the handling. The GTO handled like ****. So much body roll. The Z was just so nimble, it felt compact where the GTO felt huge and clunky. The Z felt like a true sports car where the GTO was just great for street light racing (which I never did!). Was one of the not so bright decisions I've made so far. I learned that chasing horsepower doesn't always work out. Its about the entire car overall. Not just that one number.
