Hi guys. I'm going to remove, paint, and clear coat my hamburger "Nissan" emblems to match my car. Does anyone have any experience removing the chrome finish before using primer?

Removing chrome from plastic emblems?
Hi guys. I'm going to remove, paint, and clear coat my hamburger "Nissan" emblems to match my car. Does anyone have any experience removing the chrome finish before using primer? I've heard people leaving them sit in bleach for a few days.

Thanks cooltoy. I've seen both before. I'm not sure that Super Clean will be strong enough for the emblems. The model-car parts he is cleaning seems to have more of a simple silver paint.

Well, the bleach trick did not work so well for me (after 4 days). It was still crusty and dissolved unevenly. I ended up just scratching up the "chrome", using plastic parts adhesion promoter, primer, red paint, and clear coat.
