Want your feedback on my mod selections
My Z is 100% stock with 4700 miles on it. After much research I've decided to go with the HKS hi flow ti exhaust over FI, Ark, and Stillen. I planned on getting the Berk HFC's with it but I've read that on a car with low mileage like mine that HFC's won't provide much benefit and that they're also not much benefit unless you've done engine mods which increases the stock HP by 20 to 30%.
I'm also still torn on whether or not to pull the trigger on the Stillen Gen 3 CAI. There are so many mixed reviews on if these are really orth the money and time to install. Should I just go with the exhaust only for now and then go from there? What do you think? |

Take a look at Z1 Motorsport's 400hp kit (flywheel hp) if you're gonna stay N/A...otherwise look at the boosted kit's available.
Twin Turbo easily puts down 600rwhp & a single supercharger w/air cooler 500rwhp....it's all about the ($) & where you are looking to go. without boost or nitrous; peak is around 340ish rwhp. Also,,,Mods are like drugs....very addicting! have a good day

[QUOTE=gomer_110;3542695]Not sure where you saw this. The number one breathing restriction on our cars is the factory cats. Get rid of them

I started doing na mods around the same time as you on a 2014 base. Now the stillen cai and fast intention long tube headers are coming off at 17k miles, along with other worthless stuff like upgrades base brake rotors and pads - going sport package now.
All my na mods will be on the for sale forum soon. If you want them hit me up. My advice though, dont waste money on anything NA only if you are going FI. These mods, while fun as heck, only delayed my next step. The sooner you pick a direction and bolt toward it the better off your wallet will be in the end. Regardless my best mod so far is the RJM clutch assembly. Hands down, changed the car for me. That is one of those mods every should just do. |

Unfortunately I do since I live in one of the counties in PA which do rigorous emissions checks at inspection time. I'd love to do test pipes but can't for that reason. This is why I'm looking at the HFC's. Just want to ensure I'm getting my $$ worth if I do.

I have the berk hfcs and they are one of my favorite mods.
If you go that route I recommend you research the "demon bolt" if you are going DIY. Stillen G3 is the way to go. HKS is a great exhaust but have you looked at other options like the Fast Intentions, Tomei etc? Basically, you will be close to done after a catback, HFC/test pipe, and your CAI. After that you can get aTune, ported mani/plenum, lightend flywheel but as others have said - decide if you are going to do forced induction or stay NA first before you start shelling out coin for bolt ons - that you may have to unbolt in the future if you change your mind. |

Mod to your liking and do what you want to do but am wondering where you are getting your information from. Looks like you are already misinformed. If you like a particular item, search for feedback, talk to vendors, and PM those with experience with the mod. Good luck.

I would tend to believe this is bs for most cars, but it is especially untrue in the case of the 370Z.

I bought a 2014 Sport + Touring with around 3.4K miles on it already. I started modding it around 5K miles with the Gen 3 first. Then I added the Berk HFC, Motordyne Resonated XYZ Pipe and Apexi RS-Exhaust. After the UpRev Tune the outcome was 322 WHP. Also dropped some SWIFT springs and 20mm/25mm spacers. Just installed a 24-row oil cooler kit along with the aluminum Z1 undershroud. Oil cooler kit help ALOT lol Note: I had everything installed separately so I could hear/feel the difference.
