Fix Up or Sell and Start Fresh
1 Attachment(s)
Bought a 2009 sport 6MT Magnetic Black 370 about a year ago, and am now approaching the 100k mileage bump. Have been contemplating selling and buying a 2017 version. Most of the mods on my car were done by the previous owner and I have found little problems here and there that are bothersome, not to mention the cosmetic problems. In need of new headlights, a repaint. Curious on what y'all think, should I keep moding a high mileage Z or start fresh?

I would hang onto it and wait for the Z35 to come out..

Judging from all of the multiple hideous renderings I've seen of what the new Z35 may look like, I'd keep the 2009 even after the new one comes out. The Z's future doesn't look too promising.

I will go for the 2017 if was me.

I'm in the same boat. Have 75k miles and it's a 2011. The advice I was given was this 'why repurchase a car you have just to have less miles'. If your car is giving you no issues - keep it and see what the new Z looks like. Worse case it if you don't like it, it will bring the price down of the current Z so obtaining a slightly used 2017 will be a little cheaper

No financial gain in getting a late model Z. You still come ahead fixing your issues if mostly cosmetic. If you want something new then nothing will convince you to do something else.

Sell, start fresh

thats a clean Z.
you should wait until the Z35 though |

unless you are going for a new nismo mode (2015+) there is almost zero incentive to trade other than less miles..
This is assuming that you are happy with what transmission you have (at or mt) and want to keep the current transmission.. Plus you already have mods you want for the most part on the current Z.. that's even more you are saving towards spicing the current z up. |
Fix the annoying things about it, get some new headlamps and fresh paint. It looks really good, nothing eye catching about current model to me to start all over with payments.

Some people prefer virgins and some are okay with used. If a brand new Z is a Virgin (you are the first owner), the Z with 5+ owners is a whore, the car with 100k miles is like a 50 year old, one with under 20k is a 30 year divorcee with no kids...
My point is that each has his own classifications and you have to decide your own standards.... |
I'd LS3 it ;)
