The computer knows that you purchased a particular car somewhere along the way. It does not know if you actually drive that car or still own it. I get similar mailings for cars I haven't owned in five or more years.

Sure, they'll purchase your car. For $25K? ROFLMAO The price they are mentioning is full retail (what they would try to sell it for) - hard to stay in business if you're not making a profit.

As others have mentioned, this is just a come-on to get you in the showroom. Ie, circular file material.

But there's no harm in asking and you may learn a valuable lesson about dealerships. Go ahead and see what they will offer for your car. My bet is that you will be sorely disappointed.

I haven't checked KBB for my car recently, but sticker on it was 46K so 25K doesn't seem out of the bounds of reality.

I got one of those for the 2011 Z I was leasing. I was skeptical but called them on it - a Nissan dealer 90 miles away. Long story short, they wanted my car bad enough that they bought out the rest of the lease (6 months early), gave me a smoking deal on a 2014 Z, picked it up in Chicago, delivered the new car to my house on a flatbed, and hauled the 2011 away (snowstorm rendering a Z undriveable). I never even set foot in the dealership. It was like ordering a pizza.

I told them I wasn't interested until the new Z released (think I said that earlier). What does that have to do with whether the car is worth that or not (which is what I was replying to)? He was trying to make it sound like my car isn't worth that, but it very likely is worth that and more. KBB.com shows that a dealer would ask between 26K and 29K for it so yeah, that looks right that they'd offer 25K for it.
