These are computer generated flyers sent out to try and lure people to buy a new car. Trust me, nobody at that dealership even knows what car you currently drive, nor do they care.

Well, their computer obviously knows what I'm driving; it's right there in their emails. In addition they offered to simply purchase my car whether I bought another car or not.

Because your information is all in their system.

It's a marketing gimmick, nothing more.

They just wanna sell you a new car. The deal is just lure you in. I get the exact same mail all the time.

Its basically junk mail. I still get those for my 06 350z which i dont own anymore.

The computer knows that you purchased a particular car somewhere along the way. It does not know if you actually drive that car or still own it. I get similar mailings for cars I haven't owned in five or more years.

Sure, they'll purchase your car. For $25K? ROFLMAO The price they are mentioning is full retail (what they would try to sell it for) - hard to stay in business if you're not making a profit.

As others have mentioned, this is just a come-on to get you in the showroom. Ie, circular file material.

But there's no harm in asking and you may learn a valuable lesson about dealerships. Go ahead and see what they will offer for your car. My bet is that you will be sorely disappointed.

"it's a trap!"

Sounds like the same scheme to get you to buy an extended warranty on your brand new vehicle even when it still has 3 years of warranty left. I get these in the mail every few months, even for vehicles I don't own any more.

Don't bother. He thinks it's funny. His posts are all worthless. Just put him on your ignore list. Your forum experience will be much improved.

I get them all the time. Sometime I get offered book value. I think the demand is high in your area to get them in lots. But they are just trying to make your Loan longer.

My offers go straight in the trash
