Default Ac issues?

So maybe someone has run into this before, but with the 90 degree heat here in southern california lately I've been using the ac on the Z more often. Long story short i was sitting parked with the car and ac on for a little over a half hour and looked down just in time to see the coolant temp gauge sitting just below danger zone. Shut the car off immediately and let it sit for a few minutes and then turned it back on with the ac turned off at which point the radiator fans kicked on full blast and coolant temps dropped within a few seconds. Now on to today, same outside temps same conditions with ac on and car parked. Started doing the same thing again only this time i turned off the ac without shutting off the car and noticed that when i did this the coolant temps dropped down to normal within a minute. Anybody have any idea as to whether this is being caused by the ac unit? Keep in mind i have not serviced the ac system on this car since i picked it up and im not sure when the last time the ac system was serviced by the previous owner. Any and all help is appreciated and thanks for listening.

Default Ac issues?

Forgot to mention the coolant system was flushed less than 6 months ago and radiator fans were running while ac was turned on

There's a cooling system issue there for sure
I am in Madera and I run mine sitting still with no heating up. This is in 112 degree heat, ice cold in the car with no hint of temperature fluctuations. If anything shouldn't the car run cooler or normal at the least with the air on?

You would think, the weird thing is this just started happening yesterday. Before this in the same conditions the car was fine whether the ac was on or not. Im leaning toward it either being something with the ac system or the thermostat, but wanted to see if anyone has run into this issue before

Could be a possible intermittent fan issue. The fan should be on when you turn the AC on to help the engine stay cool due to the extra load of the AC compressor being engaged. The fans also come on at lower speeds and at a stop to help keep the engine cool since not as much air is going through the engine bay. The fans also come on when temps get to high even though you are driving and the air going through the engine bay. I

You could take it to the dealer and they should be able to monitor desired fan speed and actual fan speed to see if there is any variance. You could also see if there are any stored codes or any for overheating.

Is your check engine light on?

Thermostat is my guess
Like my buddy told me when I had the problems with my Accord
"Try taking the thermostat out and see what happens?" Sounds goofy but let's just say right after that I bought a thermostat
Which, I might add, are usually cheap and easy to replace.

That depends on the car and where it's located.

No check engine light, fans are both on while the ac is going but not sure if they are at full blast. They sound like they are going full blast though when the ac is going

I would look at the Radiator, thermostat, hose and sensor again. As you mention, Coolant was replace 6 months ago. I know it ran 6 months without any issue, but the is just the recent done on your car and its related to your current situation.

This just my thought. and This is I would do at first.

I hate using my ac... throttle response suffers and overall just feels like the car is labouring with it on... unless I'm at a stand still and desperate for cool air I try to suffer with just windows down

Suggestion if it happens again.

Don't shut off the car. Turn off the AC, roll down your windows and crank the heat on high.

It will pull the heat out of the engine and drop the temperature rapidly.

Trust me, it works.

Have you tried using a coolant test to test the boiling point of your coolant?
