There are too many people around here that are just waiting to jump on someone. In this case if this was the OPs first car with a manual mode/ paddles there could be questions. I know it was my first with the paddles & didn't just jump in & go. To say if you don't know how to use the paddles, don't use manual mode
 How are you suppose to learn if you don't ASK? Whether it sounds a little dumb or not. If you don't like this kind of threads don't read them & waist your time.
