Noop, won't hurt your car. If you get caught acting stupid be prepared to pay the price. That will be a large price at your age.

Fair enough. I think lack of cruise control would be the least of my worries. My ears would probably start bleeding first

What a trolling schmuck.
The old Route 66, through Ely, Nevada and the upper states, long stretches where the next exit is 68 miles up the Road and other Upper states like Montana, Wyoming and such, where you see an occasional trucker and hardly any traffic.

Look, I am not trolling. I have had the z before but used it in city traffic and short trips. About 20 plus years ago, I took a trip from New York to San Francisco in a Honda Prelude (1997) driving on Highway 94 and through upper Michigan and parallel to the Canadian
border. Now that I am retired, I plan on taking one last long trip similar to that one but hitting places where I have lived...(Oneonta, NY, Ann Arbor, MI, Rapid City, SD, Los Alamos, NM, Fresno and San Bernardino, Ca. Taking the northern route (before it gets too cold) and returning via the Southern route, visiting friends in Tucson, AZ.

On a recent trip to Tunica, MS fron Nashville, I hit 115, cruised for short stretches at 90. I was wondering how the Z would handle high speed for a longer period, say an hour or two. Also, I tried the paddle shifters and sometimes, Not realizing I had it in manual, I took of from traffic light and did not notice that I had gone to 5000 RPM before hearing the Engine over the music. I normally shift at 3k and wondered if shifting at higher RPM hurts the car.

Sorry if Zi upset some of you.

Sounds like a great trip.

As long as you aren't cruising at redline drive whatever speed you want and shift when you like. If you find yourself with a heavy foot when it's hot out you want want to consider an oil cooler. Mine would get the temps up real easy before I installed one.

Beyond that enjoy the trip, take lots of photos.

The OP should just get a motorcycle. The rush is much greater. Those new sport liter bikes have upwards of 150-180 hp at the wheel! 0-60 times not even worth mentioning, and quarter mile times in the low 10's, upper 9's!
