Later, the story will be told in a Stephen King made for TV novel.

Edit: As mentioned before, your car is ugly. I hate the color. |

Yeah well I have no respect for you after seeing what POS color you chose. What shade of puke is that?

Haha... I do need to make an appointment with my dealer -- just dreading the battle!

The problem is the ECM. There doesn't seem to be any official notification going out like a TSB, but they definitely have a fix for the G37....I just had mine fixed a few weeks ago. I had taken the car in twice before for the problem and they couldn't diagnose it. When I heard there was an official fix, I called the dealer and told him I understood there was a fix and asked him to investigate. Several weeks later he met with the regional rep and they agreed to order me the part and called me to install it. I would assume Nissan also has the fix ready to go, but you're going to have to pursue it..I would start with the dealer first, then go to Consumer Affairs if that doesn't work.

So...is this normal??
I had my ECM replaced and still experienced the whine. Did a little further reading and did a little testing and realized it's the THROTTLE BODIES! Here is how you can tell if the noise is coming from your throttle bodies or ECM.
I had my service manager convinced it was the ECM...and it turns out that wasn't the problem. Here is a video of the noise well. Car is in gear. Throttle Body Whine Last edited by fitxpert; 05-02-2014 at 12:23 AM. |

Thanks for bumping EVERY THREAD...
Your problem is NOT the standard ECM whine

I'm confused. My car makes the noise when I do the above. The link says TB noise, the vid says ECU noise. Which problem do I have? Thanks. Last edited by acmethod; 05-31-2015 at 09:42 PM. Reason: Yypo |

Yep, I simply have that noise happening without starting the engine. I put the car on "On" without pressing on the brakes, then I shift into R N or D/DS and it'll make that noise. The dealership I went to said it was a normal operation noise, but I knew better.. too bad my warranty ran out on Feb.
