The 2016 Midnight Blue is incredible paint. It looks black from the long angles, and blue metallic flake in the sun. People comment on it all the time in parking lots. If the Deep Blue Pearl is anything like it, it's a winner.

Deep Blue Pearl was new in 2016. I've had mine a little over a year. I love the color in the sun!

Midnight Blue was only offered in 2013 and 2014. 2015, 2016, 2017 are Deep Blue Pearl.

Similar colors but quite different. Midnight blue is a Metallic paint while Deep Blue Pearl is well... a pearl effect.

Personally I much prefer Midnight Blue.

According to the sales brochure, my '16 Z is deep blue pearl, part code 'RAY'. However, there is a metallic effect, not a pearl effect, in the finish. Who knows, maybe Nissan Corp. did something special for the Canadian cars?

Interesting. I wonder if this is a change to fix the CSC issue.

Care to post a few pics of your car? Canadian cars could be different.

Mine is the same. Canadian 17 Deep Blue Pearl and it is a GT-R color they are bringing to our Z's. It does look metallic but it is supposed to be that way I believe its the exact same color wherever you go.
