I recommend staying away from Legend Nissan as well. They lied to me about having a car and trying to take my deposit. Meanwhile, my salesman at Baron was able to get me a car out of state and bring it to me. After all the hassle I recommend Baron Nissan, but YMMV and I know it's alittle inconvenient as far as distance from you.

Well you'd just ask them to physically show you the actual car you're gonna buy before any paper work so thats not my worry. Smithtown has a large inventory and I don't have to search a lot for the exact trim I'm looking for. But I'm trying to still understand how they were scamming people - or was it that the people were ignorant and they just made use of it.

What I saw on the news was customers complaining that after one month their monthly payment amount increased etc. ---> how can this happen unless you walk out of the showroom with the car without paperwork. And I don't understand why someone would walk out of the showroom without paperwork when you're putting your life's savings on it. So I'm kinda getting biased on these scams trying to imply that ANY SELLER will try stunts to make more money and that its upto a smart buyer to do whats needed and not get scammed.

I'm a bit confused..The allegations I've read are that they were altering contracts AFTER the purchase. But, if it was alterations to an unsigned contract than it was clearly the consumers fault for not reading the contract...

I drive past that dealership all the time when I'm with my girlfriend and I agree they have a huge inventory of 370z's. If you can get it without some trouble being caused then awesome. My only concern now is if the dealership will be open much longer if Cuomo successfully cleans them out.

I guess they must be showing an unofficial document which the customer would sign, coz I find it REALLY hard to believe a customer walks out with a car without signing anything. And on THAT document it must say somewhere in fine print "subject to change" etc. and then next month they are "allowed" to increase the rate.

I REALLY doubt it.. such scandals are well planned. There must be some fine print that customers must've missed.

Its strange, the news page for this article that I put up allows public to comment but the webmaster isn't putting up any of the comments!
