as shitty as that is, a small percentage of the fault is still probably the consumer, for not thoroughly reading the contract. i read every word of mine, and even confused the financing manager with some of my questions about the wordage. there are a lot of lawyers that will review your car note for free.

Yeah thats what I don't get - I have read every single customer complaint since 2008 on the internet since yesterday. What I'm seeing is customers have been either not reading properly, or just walking out without the contract!!!!!!!!??? And then after 2 weeks their monthly payments go up.

How can you buy a car and walk out without paper work?

So maybe these dealers try fooling everyone and end up succeeding with the stupid customers?

(I'm just a little biased since Smithtown Nissan has 24 Z's right now, so you'll get the color/options you want... other dealers have 2-3 Z's left mostly).

I purchased mine from them at a very good deal. I have no problem with them. Most of their Zs are automatic bade models right now tho . I don't think there is One sport on their lot.

Here's what they're saying to me: (If this is illegal to quote or against rules etc. I'll take it off):

Look any car dealer is going to have customer that are happy and customers that are unhappy, and this is a matter that the owner of the dealership is dealing with, im here to help you purchase a car and give you the best price possible, my customer satisfaction is 99% and we have the banner hanging up in the dealer to show we are number 2 in the country from Nissan Corp. I would like to sell you a car and i can GARRANTY you wont have any problems with me or our dealership for that matter.

I'm unsure Dustin, all I can Google up are customer reviews since 2008 talking about the same thing over and over and no where do I find "number 2 in USA".

it's amazing the education level of some of these guys...run-on sentences, no comma's where their should be, terribly mis-spelled words. This is their WORK e-mail and they can't even use spell-check.

Personally, i wouldn't give them a dime of my business. I don't believe in companies trying to take advantage of the ignorant and uneducated consumer. I'm only 25, but I believe in the old-fashioned customer service focused business that his up-front, honest, and there to help you. I'll gladly pay a little more to support a business with that focus.

find the car you want on their lot, go to another dealership and have them do a dealer-trade for it.

I just re-looked at the inventory from the Z website... turns out they don't have the Red Touring w/Nav + Auto trans I'm looking for either.

Lol.. turns out no one closeby has those left anymore.

On a side note, upon Googling, I'm finding tonnes of dealers who do shady stuff, so its really upon the customer to be smart and NOT WALK OUT WITHOUT PAPERWORK.. I still can't believe how someone can buy something that's $20,000 - $40,000 and walk out without paper work and then complain after.

If it's a consumer's first time buying a car, they may not know what to expect and put their trust in the business they are dealing with. Has it come to the point that we can no longer trust businesses and corporations in the United States? Do we need to bring a lawyer with us every time we make a purchase? It's unfathomable that a business would steal from a customer that trusts them. For those who think it's ok to commit a crime against someone who is unsuspecting, it truly does reflect on your own ethics.

Seems to me from what I've read at this point that the dealership didn't explain things well, and some customers are clueless about the paperwork they sign when purchasing.

They gave me a very competitive quote last month. Too far away to take them up on it though.

Could this scandal exist BECAUSE they manage to find newbie buyers who walk out with paper work? And if thats true, then not just this one dealer but probably others get by it too. (In which case if I know I'm smart enough to read and not walk out with paper work I wouldn't be scammed)?

They have offered me $500 below invoice as of last week (on pretty much any trim etc.) Are you any better? (I'm not impressed at $500 below invoice at this point in the year at all)
