Super charger question
Hello all. I recently purchased a Stillen supercharger and had it installed. I have a bad tune from UpRev and Stillen is going to send a good tune. My question however, is when is the boost supposed to kick in? I was told by the shop that installed it, was that the boost doesn't really kick in until about 5k RPMs. Is this true?

Please tell me your kidding?? If your not kidding I would stay far away from the shop who told you that.. It's a supercharger not a turbo..
|
I dont really believe there is a "Switch on" Rpm for boost to kick in.. usually has to do with amount of throttle and load right??
|
I wish I was kidding. I thought it was supposed to work like a turbo as well, more throttle, more boost, up to what the setting is at for psi. I figured the bad tune possibly has something to do with it.

Please, stop driving your car. NOW. You WILL grenade your motor if you continue to drive it. Who did your install? What gauges do you have installed? What mods? (ALL non asthetic mods) Lastly, Stillen's tune is GARBAGE... You need to get a custom tune. I don't know anyone in that area. I'd go to R/T Tuning or AAM, whichever is closest, and yeah, I know neither is close |
I haven't driven the car much, maybe 100 miles. It's my weekend car, so I haven't driven it because it's not right yet.
Krazy house did the install. I have a Defi boost gauge that can register up to 30, an innovative digital air/fuel gauge. Fast Intentions cat back exhaust. |
The shop does know how a supercharger works, right? I mean, it's different than a turbo.
