Just replaced clutch switch, having battery problems...
I just want to know if this is at all correlated with each other?
I just replaced the clutch switch because my car would constantly take 2 or 3 pushes to actually turn the engine. After two days by car dies and fails to completely turn. I jumped it and it fired up... Is it just time to get a new battery? or did I somehow connect the switch wrong? I know a fault switch wouldn't even turn the engine but idk... coincidence? I don't think its the alternator because the battery gauge still reads around 15V while running... faulty alternator would ready a weaker voltage right? Also, anyone recommend any products that work great for cleaning battery terminals and cables? |

it is probably the battery if it is more than 3-4 years old. a weak battery tends to have difficulty starting and it is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace.

I figure its probably the battery, Ima go out and but a fancy new one tomorrow... But I thought I would get signs a few days prior before it completely craps out.
Car started fine all these days and all of a sudden it left me for dead. At first someone tried juicing me with one of those portable charges, but I guess it wasn't strong enough... So my friend came over and I hooked it up to his car. |

First thing to try is cleaning the battery posts - remove the connectors, clean off any corrosion from connectors/posts, (optional) apply a VERY LIGHT coat of bulb grease to the mating surfaces, re-assemble.
