Out of all those the 370z is tugging on my heartstrings the hardest right now. My friend has a 335i. Nice car, hauls ***. Was almost decided on getting the 135, but I just can't like the styling. And the fact that there is no LSD from factory just bugs the shite outta me.

I have always been a BMW freak. Owned an M Roadster, 1.9 Z3, 325is. My winter car is a 95 540i, and I love it. There is just nothing in BMW's current line that excites me very much, save the M3. Not paying $60k.

My biggest choice I have to make is to keep my 06 ap2 s2k or spring for the 370z. The s2k if one helluva entertaining car, but I miss torque.

It's a conundrum...

I went to the Benzo dealer. I wanted a 2 door, and they had nothing that interested me below $60k. I'm not that much of a baller!

I got an ap2 s2k. Fun as hell with go-kart like handling but you're right. I miss the torque and I gotta have more luxuries inside. I want my navigation. The interior of the 370Z is light years ahead of the s2k.

Why can't you have both? Gotta keep the s2k. Can't trade that in.

Similar performance, but the german offerings will be at least 10K more than a fully loaded 370Z.

Out of your choices, the direct competitor is the Z4. I currently have a Z, but am honestly have a little bias towards BMW. I typically go with minimal options, so if the Z4 were no more than 5K more than a 370Z, than I'd probably go with a Z4. The bi-turbo engine in the new Z4 is great and is a hardtop convertible which may add weight, but is the Z4's trump card IMO.

The Z has always been about value and bang for the buck. The 370Z still offers lots of performance and qualities for the money, but at ~40K, it's really getting up there. I sadly haven't driven a new Z yet, but I have no doubt it will be more fun to drive. Also if you enjoy modding cars, there will be many more options available for the Z compared to the Z4.

Between the 335i, C350 and A5.....I think the A5 is the best looking. I also think the C350 with sports package is a better looker in and out compared to the 335i, but in terms of performance and driving qualities, I'd take the BMW.

The C6 vette should be included in the choices, you can get them for $45k or less right now. 430hp is pretty sweet! I drove one about two weeks ago, I also drove the Challenger SRT8.

Good to know that lot of BMW owners are hanging around this forum, this just tells how good of a car the Z is. Specially if you are financially stressed and want to save some money but still have a "Good driving machine".

I wish I could, but dunno if I can float two payments in this economy.

I was also looking at the Vette (pretty much the complete opposite of the s2000 engine wise). Drove one. Engine was torquearific, but the steering and interior left me cold. My living room couch had better side boltering than the seats. You can pretty much go to any Chevy dealership and name your price within reason.

I think I will miss the convertible. Not sure I would want a 370z convertible, guessing it's gonna weigh in at 3500, about 700 more than an S.

benzo = unlimited poon (plus with the c350 sport, the power is increased and the handling is tuned to be more "agressive" and it sits about an inch lower than the other c-class models. also, the suspension uses components from the c63 just like the body kit).. what I'm trying to explain is that it will be more than fun to drive

I've driven a C350 and it's a pretty boring car. The C63 is a different story though. I love the exhaust note on that thing.

The 335i was a gateway car, per se. A lot of people, including myself, jumped on the car because it was a quick BMW at an 'affordable' price. I've always like BMW's and Benz's, but all of the faster versions were pretty darn expensive. 335i owners came from Evo, STi, S2k, 350z, etc.

I'm not a badge whore like some people out there. I came from an Evo, and at the time I made the switch, it was the only car I can find that has some of the speed my Evo had without spending too much outside of my comfort zone.

And of course because the 335i is turbo'd from the factory, like most other turbo'd cars, making power is pretty darn easy.

I like Audi, but they've gotten too expensive. There was a time when Audi would price their car a tad bit less than the competing BMW. Now they have surpassed the price of their BMW counterpart. And the resale of Audi's suck severely. They still don't handle that well, at least from the Audi's I've driven, S4 and S5.

Id have to pick the 370z. For these reasons..

1. Test drove a 370 recently and wasn't disappointed.

2. We (wife) already had a 335, but chucked it for a 328 due to the early HPFP nonsense.

3. My current DD is a 350ZR.

4. Never had any interest in Audi or MB.

5. Going to be my next DD, so it's mainly my decision anyway.

Hey me too - another past 335 owner. Have you driven the new 370z? I am curious to hear your thoughts comparing to a 335. Also, mine wasn't chipped and was an auto.

I just want to remind everyone the Forum Rules:

It clearly states there if you don't like what someone posted, just IGNORE it. Everyone will express their opinion. No one is right or wrong. If one doesn't like a certain car, doesn't mean they are wrong. As onethreefive said in the forum rules,

Quote:
*Harassment of other members will not be tolerated.(No matter how bad they deserve it). If you don't like their post, IGNORE IT! (added by onethreefive)
Failure to comply with the forum rules will get you temp ban and ultimately perma ban. I want to remind everyone, posting here is a privilege not a right!

Now back on topic,
I'll take the 335i in a heartbeat. It's a very well handling car with a great tq curve. As much as I like 135i, but the look doesn't do it for me. The 335i coupe looks a lot better and out of the list that's what I'll chose.
