I voted #1: I would have spent an extra $500 to have one. But frankly, my experience suggests it is unnecessary in daily driving. I'm more fearful about long-term effects of higher oil temps rather than concerned about over-temp events. I find it amazing that the oil temps in the Z are regularly higher than my bi-turbo Audi S4.

As I've stated before it's all fun and dandy when your Z is covered within the warranty period, but the long term effects is what will get you in the end....and if/when that happens.....you will blame it on Nissan and they will blame it on you. GL to all those that plan on keeping their Z for a long time. I've had 3 VQ engines...two of them being 350Z's......and believe me they all run very hot. It's not the safest/most secure feeling to get all that heat radiating into the cabin. |

Although I already spent $880 including tax and oil for one, I certainly would have preferred to pay at time of purchase, say with sport package. I voted for pay additional $500.

The more factory options the better... 2 months ago i got stuck on the freeway for 5 hours due to an accident, all lanes closed. I was a little concerned since it was 118 degs.. oil temp was at 230. My chevy truck runs around 200 during summer.
