It is for personal use so i assume you can buy it from ebay with a seller from germany/japan because you have no intend to resale. But What happen in case of accident ? will your/ our usa base insurance (statefarm, geico, allstate ...) deny our full coverage (car damage/ health) because our seat is not yet approve by the U.S gov/auto dept ? i am asking because i just read somewhere about this and it freak me out... It is for sure authentic Sparco Sprint bucket seat, but the price is almost 150$ cheaper (not to mention shipping cost) => 200++ seller ebay location 100% feedback germany / i just wonder how about bride ? recaro? In Australia, the Z34 is fitted with side bolster airbags in the seat. These inflate to stop your head smacking into the B pillar and/or door glass in a side impact .....
Recaro sell a sports seat with air-bag here and a number of people have fitted them. The airbag is compatible with the Nissan bay-deployment system. Whether you can get the seat in the USA, I do not know. Replacing the driver's seat with a non-OEM seat that lacks an airbag is a retrograde step. IMHO, drivers these days need all the safety help they can get. Tread your own path. |

For a street car, stick with the stock seats, belts and airbags. If it's a track-only car, go for it.

Subbed to see if someone comes up with a good answer.
I have to agree with the others, even if it's legal and compatible with your insurance, it doesn't sound like the best move for a DD. YMMV
