No rear spoiler?

On the rare occurrence that I do see a Z in my area, saw one with no spoiler and it kinda gave the car an incomplete look / not nearly as sporty
Just saying!

sgosh 06-15-2016 05:45 PM

I agree. That spoiler finishes the car nicely, and tastefully.

It is an Option in some Countries.

Bshields22 06-15-2016 06:11 PM

S'pore bound cars are fitted as standard...we only got 2 model,Manual or Auto, all are Sport models.

OldGuyFla 06-16-2016 08:00 AM

The roadster has to have a spoiler to look good! Taking mine out for a ride in a few minutes.

ChopsZ 06-16-2016 08:00 AM

The base model doesn't come with a spoiler (which is what I have). In some instances it looks good without it, but most of the time, it makes the azz end of the car look to bulbous. I'll get one for mine eventually, but it's way back on the list of things to do.

i love the z either no spoiler

or

big *** gt spoiler

no in between

HEK 06-16-2016 08:42 AM

the spoiler makes the car at different angles look sportier, now correct me if I'm "rong" but most 350Z's didn't have them correct?....:driving:

ChaseZ 06-16-2016 09:31 AM

I parked beside the identical car at the dealership the other day but without a spoiler. Night and day difference. It makes the car, and then some. That was the only dealer -installed anything I got and sure glad I did!

It may have inspired the construction of stonehenge.

I'm on my third Maxima ( 95,01,06 ) and I have to say, they all looked better with spoilers!
As the old saying goes " that's the way I roll " :rofl2:

TriNismo 06-17-2016 12:21 AM

I've had spoilers on all my cars.. even the daily driver Honda FIT lol

There are many Z's out there without spoilers and they look spectacular. It is all about overall execution and how one exterior mod flows with the rest. Some guys go with simplicity and works well too.

But on that note I'm going to say that if you stare at Z without a spoiler from the side far enough it will start to look like a flying saucer from the old movies, as if the roof is taller than it should be, my 2 cents :driving:

axmea? 06-17-2016 12:05 PM

wtf. Can I have a toke of what you're smoking please? I wanna see some flying saucers.

Mostly women drive the ones with no spoilers, my guess is that they just don't give a shiit like most women with cars, LOL.

I'm the second owner of my touring 09' and I'm happy to say it was lady driven before I got my grimy hands on it

Also I like the no spoiler look. But I'm biased.

Nope, not doing it for me. Without the spoiler it reminds me of those cats without a tail:

I like spoilers that are integrated into the body work, not glued on. I would be perfectly happy with no spoiler on my Z, I would even trade hatches with someone.

Mostly I hate my spoiler since it holds so much water.

That's interesting. It's both a case of grass is greener on the other side, as well as on this side. :D

I've had a few private messages from peeps with spoilers who want to trade for my spoiler-less hatch.

Personally, I like the car with and without; it depends on the day. It almost needs to an optional, easily added/removed accessory like a tie.

When it comes to the Z, my eyes are usually drawn to the car's bulging fenders ... like a sexy girl in yoga-pants. LOL. I tend to notice the spoiler a bit later ...

Or how about people (men) that can afford the Sport but buy the base model because they don't want to waste money on useless things like active noise cancellation, fake piped-in exhaust sounds, and rev-match that come standard on the Sport.

The only truly useful thing that comes on the Sport is the larger, better brakes. That's it. However, the base brakes can be upgraded to slotted/drilled aftermarket ones along with carbon pads which will most likely surpass the Sport brakes.

As for wheels, the front 18" wheels weigh 2.2 lbs less than the 19" Rays, though the rear 18's weigh 0.7 lbs more. Not a big deal. Not only that, there's a much larger selection of 18" tires, and for less!

Lastly, the VLSD that comes in the Sport apparently isn't all that great since a bunch of people change it out to a "real" LSD.

The money saved on NOT buying the Sport can go into the things mentioned above to make the base actually a step up over the Sport quite easily.

And like others said, if the car is set up right, a base without the rear spoiler can look really good. Mine will be part of that group in a little while.

So, sounds like you regret not buying the Sport.....:p The base is just that....a Z with no personality.

Breadz 06-20-2016 10:25 PM

Sport is worth the money even if you dont like the wing
:tiphat:

I'd regret it if i got a base and didnt know about the sport.

That makes absolutely zero sense.

I never said I didn't like the rear spoiler. If you cared to read my first post on the first page of this thread, you'd know that.

Clearly, I didn't. Just making a statement why some of us would choose the base over the Sport. So laugh it up all you want...

Orrrrrrr maybe not, I'll stick with my original statement. :tiphat:
Base model or stock anything isn't for me so to each his own, If you like, I love it and as far as money goes, I had Nismo money so I bought one and can't see me choosing a base model if money wasn't an issue in which it wasn't, but again, to each his own.

Actually I've been shopping like mad for tires for a while now and it turns out there is far more availability in 19" than 18. Otherwise I'd have ordered a set of gram lights.
