Need a front license plate mount

I purchased my 09 370Z used from a state that doesn’t have a front license plate requirement. I live in a state that requires a front plate. I call my Nissan dealer and they want $100 for the front mount. Seems a little steep for a piece of plastic. I have seen the real generic ones at local auto parts store for $4, but I would prefer one that is perhaps more fitted for the Z. Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper OEM type mount or after market mount that will fit the vehicle? Or has anyone successfully used some type of generic mount and been satisfied?

I've got a couple of factory front license plate brackets...if you are willing to cover the shipping costs I'd be more than happy to send one to you (they've come with both of my 370s and my state doesn't require a front plate so they are just sitting in my garage!).

PM me if you are interested!

Ugh, I dread ever having to drill into my bumper to mount that damn thing, Texas requires a front license plate, but I just stick it in my window. I too have one you can have, just pay the shipping and its yours.

Might still have it out back if I do it's yours.

Thanks for your generous offers and support. I have already contacted Robert_Nash to get one of his.

When you mount it be very careful about the screws that hold the plate to the bracket itself. I saw several dealer installed front plates where the tips of the screws that held the plate to the bracket poked through and damaged the paint and gouged the fascia. I rejected several cars from possible purchase for that reason.

Good advise I will be careful. I didn't see where the tow hook attached, I looked in the vent area and only saw radiator.

Gominigo has some no holes mounts also. They look pretty good. On the Nissan section it says they will have a 370Z application soon:

If you click on the "no holes LPB kit" link on the top of the side bar it shows what most of the kits look like.

Hope that helps.

WOW 85 bucks for sheet meatl you can get at homedepot for say 10 bucks. Bends easy in a bench vise, or hand bender. Just drill, 3 holes soooooooooooooo not worth 85 bucks IMO

Picture 2 and 4 shows the piece that the bent medal bracket bolts to. It's the machined stud that screws into the tow hook mount. That threaded stud is probably the majority of the cost, not the bracket that bolts to the plate you are referring to.

I'm not sure if the Z has a pop out panel on the front facia for the tow hook. If it does I'm sure they'll use that method and the kit will be similarly priced. If not maybe it'll be cheaper using some other way...? I'm sure you could call/email them.
