If you are wanting to go with a Challenger you might as well go all the way. Look at the SRT Hellcat, 707 hp.

Hard to beat a 520+hp v8 that revs to 8250rpm and handles like a race car. If you don't get the R model you'll also have back seats.

Except it limits how many times you can actually rev to that redline. Which is ridiculous. Why have that as a redline if the car will force a limp mode , not allowing it more than a couple of times an hour? They're also popping those engines like popcorn over on the mustang6g forums, so doesn't appear very reliable.

Im afraid the service writer at the dealership did not have a clue about a single aspect of my car lol. i explained what it was and that it was there to protect the tranny from overheating by limiting the revs to 5000 till it cools down etc. The reply was " Its highly unlikely that your revs were limited due to the tranny getting hot nor have we ever heard of such a situation". I thought great..just f#@#$#@ great.I canceled the oil change they were going to do at that point as well. Take it to my buddys place . He has a lift and builds race cars. Guess I will just ask for a printout from the computer .

I had the same dilemma when I bought my Z. 2 things made a deciding factor for me, the first was corning, while the Challenger wasn't bad for it's size the NISMO was a go cart. The second was while the interior of the NISMO is sparse to say the least, it feels like that was it's design, while the SRT8 felt like it was reaching to be a mix between luxury and race car and didn't fit either one.

Thanks for all the input guys. It looks like I am going to have to drive to Texas to find a SRT to test drive, sadly. I'm still on the fence about. As for the comment about dated tech and the new SS, im going to look into that. They have a 2SS near me at a dealership.

If it checks out it is worth it. I paid 32k for my 2013 with 7794 miles. My car was just about perfect though.

I'd try and get them to come way down. You have to consider that if you were to try and sell it even 6 months from now you'd probably only get 25-30k for it. When buying used you should always try to aim for a price point that should you sell it in a short period of time you can usually break even. Unfortunately the Z doesn't hold it's value very well. I sold my 2010 NISMO in 2014 for 25k. I think if you can nab this one for 30k you'd be doing really well. At 35k it's a bit expensive.

As I mentioned before though, for 35k you can buy yourself a newer car that is much better. Assuming you aren't dead set on the Z body itself.

Also have you test driven a NISMO? I would really encourage you to get some seat time with it. And not some 5min drive around the block either. The suspension is super rough on the NISMO. Probably the roughest of any car I've been in short of a track only car. I daily drove mine for 4 years without much issue as I just got used to it buy my girlfriend at the time hated it. And she wasn't some prissy type. She drove sports cars herself with her car at the time being a 2014 Camaro 1LE. I'm just saying, the NISMO is not cush at all. Some people love it and others hate it. I was much happier when I went to my Vette GS. Same level of handling without the harshness

Well after looking around at different cars and different pricing/financing options. I found out what I want to go with. A brand new 2016 Stingray, base model 6 speed. I can afford one with a nice down payment and 84 month financing and my credit is 750+ so I can get a could approval and interest rate. It seems to be the best performing car for its price and it looks hella mean, IMO.

This is not a personal judgement; just a few questions for you to explore internally.

You're saying that you would finance a car for seven years? Seven? With a "nice down payment?" My mortgage term is fifteen years.

I understand passion, and I understand perceived value. Often, it's unfortunate when these two roads cross.
